View Full Version : Old school rims on S14?

Does anyone have good pics of old school rims on S14? I'm attracted to the low offsets and availability in 4-lug, and I also like the idea of doing something a bit original, but I'd like to see how they look. Anyone got some good example shots?

MW is open, but there's snow on both sides of the road. (Cool, IMO)
As far as I know, GMR's still locked down, I haven't been since mid-december. (I went up after Driver's Search)
I know Alta has a lot, but they're not actually on cars, I want to see how they look on an S14.

Well then why don't you try them on your car then...
Nabbed this picture off of FA awhile ago. Maybe somebody's car here?

old is dope if done right. I think old schol rims on a s14 looks retro. I'm rolling on riken mesh all around 5-lug with good off sets.

why? a 5 lug conversion is is only 4 hubs and rotors away....
it ain't like you have to order the fronts from JAPAN.

Hehe
That's Matt's (SpeedMonkeyInc) s14 pictured above, and those are SSR Reverse Mesh 16x8 +26mm. I know cause I drove to SD and bought 'em off him and now they're on my s13 :D. I don't usually like old school wheels on the s14 but seeing them on that car should makes me think differently about them.

Yeah, but I'm in Socal. That means no hubs in yards, which would make me have to pay ~600 bucks for the conversion. If anyone wants to sell me hubs for a reasonable price (I've been told I should really pay around 200), maybe things will be a bit different.
Additionally, you can get good offsets in old-school rims really cheaply. The kinda rims that "belong" on S14 start at 400 a wheel, and most are upwards of that.

Those SSR reverse meshes look nice on the car, not quite as good as a s13 but still pimp. here are the ones i bought, sorry i don't have any better pics, they're off my camera fone.

I want these for my S14:
http://www.panasport.com/racing.gif
Middle of the bottom row, the C8, in that exact color combination.
I hear that racing-only wheels are a lot less sturdy than wheels designed for street duty though. I definitely wouldn't want to leave them on there day after day. It'd be like Sunday shoes for the car, lol.

Get some Konig Rewinds from technotoytuning.com. They're cheaper and have different sizes.
WanganRunner
03-14-2005, 01:18 PM
Uh, I'm not sure that they DO come in diff. sizes.
The konig site says 14x7 only.
I want 17s, and they have to be 5-lug.
That's a great price though, I hope they start making them in diff. sizes, I'd buy em in a minute, even though they aren't multi-piece like the Panasports.

I am old enough because everyone knows that you learn scarcasm in 12th grade high school english class, but they banned sarcasm in hawaii because too many people got confused.
