finally got a ticket!!!

yup i finally got a ticket tonight...well it started when i finished filling my gas tank and started driving down the road when out of nowhere two cops in seperate cars came up..one behind me and the other on my right....both were on my ass like flies on shit...anyways i made a left turn to go rent a movie when they pulled me over...luckly my mom was with me at the time.
so the officer asked for license, registration, and proof of insurance. gave them all the items...and he also asked me if was ever arrested....i simply replied "no". the other cop that was also following checked my car over for anything else. a couple of minutes go by...and one of the officers leaves while the other one is writing my ticket. well anyways he only ticketed me for no proof of insurance and registration and also a verbal warining of the modified exhaust....thank god he didn't check under the hood all i had was headers on the car. but he just said this is a fixing ticket all i had to do is show the proof of insurance and registration and they' ll sign the ticket off...SWEET!

mm, i've never (knock on wood) been pulled over for having a modded car, i guess my car looks like crap and its black with black wheels. But it is slammed to the ground, has a turbo exhaust on a KA (silencered but still loud) and my parents live in industry.

Just a heads up... I got pulled over for a traffic infraction and didn't have an updated insurance card on me. (Had it at home, forgot to put it in the car) Anyways, he got me for no insurance and the violation was $600+ (Just for the insurance violation alone, total ticket was $1000+). The insurance fine was reduced to $10 when I showed the judge my proof of insurance and coverage. (Still paid $250 for traffic school and other infraction though)

Anyways, would you be able to get it written off if you got insurance now but weren't covered when you got pulled over? If you just get insurance later, you still won't be covered for the period of time when you got your ticket --- so would you still have to pay that large fine?

Dunno about registration, I was legit in that regard. I'm in California too and I doubt NorCal and SoCal have different laws... I won't comment on our different interpretations of it though. :ghey:

It's really odd. I've been running nothing but a manifold on my 240 for almost four months, and I never get a second look from cops. In fact, the only comment I've gotten at all from a cop was at our usual meets, where one of the cops said he liked my rims. (Horrible offset, sunken-ass, FN01R-C!)

agent s13: yeah i have insurance but like you i left my updated insurance card at home but can't pass smog in order to register the car and also i can get it written off just showing proof....plus he sent me to court to defend my case...which i'm not going to.

brian: yeah my car is loud but i don't drive fast all the time....so basically when i'm cruising to work the car is not loud..only when i'm driving fast

My funny story about being pulled over for car mods should fit in here..

I got pulled over for good ole "modified exhaust" at the Victoria Gardens mall - by a cop ON A BICYCLE! I was actually just on my way out, and just cruising, not even on the throttle. I could barely see the tiny flashing red and blue lights, and I thought he was going to tell me I ran a stop sign or something. He takes my info, asks me if I have any outstanding warrants - all clear. Anyway, he let me off with a warning, and told me to put my stock exhaust back on because mine is "illegal" Of course, he doesn't know that I read plenty of auto industry magazines and know that he has to give me a ticket to see a ref for decibel testing.. damn cops, they assume we're all just dumb kids. (I'm almost 25). Import profiling, no doubt. :blah:

well i was thinkg this over.. a friend of mine's bro came to my house and peeled out when he left.. makes me think about how every one hates being harrassed by cops, then i think its becuase people act stupid that gives them a reason to. Yes i hate the cops harrasing thing, but its only becuase people in teh past have ruined it for us.

shit i ran off my greddy headers for about 3 weeks around san jose, miliptas, and back and fourth from fremont for errands. Had to creep around a lot but i did it without getting pulled over once. Fucking no power at all!!! hahahah but GODDAIM it was loud. you can here me coming like a mile away. I was even side by side with a couple of cop cars here in san jose a couple of times*** thank god**** i was able to keep to a hush. :coold:
