I read this thread:

http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=62309&highlight=clutch+pedal+adjustment

it helps, but I still need help figuring out which way creates more free play for the clutch pedal, because mine is about 50% out of spec. I want more free play, so should the rod coming from the MC be shorter or longer? One post in the above thread stated that you can just rotate the rod after loosening the lock nut on the "fork" type bracket that connects to the pedal. I see that too, and I see a knurled type of texture that probably will enable me to do it. But I'm not sure...

Also, I need to increase the overall height of the clutch pedal, but it seems like I'm limited by the bracket that touches the lock nut. I'm about 1/2 to 1'' too low. It's weird since I've always thought of my pedal as very high, but according to the 98 fsm, I'm out of spec. Here are the specs for my car:

perpendicular height of clutch pedal: 192-202 mm (7.56-7.95in)
pedal free play: 9-16mm (.35-.63in)

I'd appreciate some help from those who have successfully adjusted their pedal to spec.
