First let me say sorry for all the recent posts, I am trying like hell to get this project complete.

I just finished beating my pilot bushing into my crank, and I was told my a friend of mine that I may have pushed it in too far. I have a SOHC engine, and the M/T Pilot bushing is all the way back. I read on the forums a few people have said that the end of hte pilot bushing should be flush with the crank face, but if this were true, it would seem as though the bearing wouldnt be in the crank too snug.

Here are some pics of what I have:

I have been looking for this in the FSM but i cannot seem to find it. Looked in the clutch, engine mech, tranny, and pretty much all other sections.

Thanks for all the help

no such thing as too far unless you beat it clear into the crank itself... the input shaft on the tranny will center into it, don't worry.

yeah you tap it in as far as you can until it stops moving :)

I tapped mine all the way in and it worked just fine.

"Pilot bearing removal tool", it attaches to a slide hammer.

Rent/borrow the whole shebang from the local "Autozone".
