View Full Version : Pic Request: Kosei K1 or Buddy Club P1 on S14

I"ve dug through the Search function and picture thread with mixed results.
I originally felt the wheel was a little too plain (not enough lip, not enough sink), but I cannot deny it comes in tasty sizes for a good price. That, and a recent submission to the Picture thread had nice black S14 kouki with some pretty wheels that far surpassed my expectations.

Anyone else running Kosei K1's or buddy Club P1's on their S14?

I'm thinking of going anthracite/gunmetal 16x8.5 +17 all around with 245/45/16 Bridgestone RE750 (or a lesser tire), but I just want more to go on. This will be on a white S14 kouki w/ jdm aero. Maybe it'll be a nice contrast to all the guys running 18's or bigger on the car (*Cough Johnny5 cough*)

Tire Rack quoted me $1400 and change for wheels and tires, balanced, mounted, shipped.

why not go with bandwagons?

Perhaps you are mistaken. You imply that I only choose my size in contrast to the 18inch and above crowd. This is incorrect. My jab as Johnny5 comes as someone who knows him.

Furthermore, you may or may not know that 16's come with less rotational mass. 16-inch tires come far cheaper than 16 inch tires, and the 16-inch price savings mean I could possibly go with an tire like the RE750 or what not instead of say, a far tamer ES100 or ST115. I have no need for extra brake clearance, as I do not have 13inch rotors and/or 8 pot pistons (i'll take 'em if you wanna gimme 'em).

Lastly, I'll be happy to get 17's. I simply want these now.

Why not not go with bandwagons?

The only technical input I have is that do not go less than 245/45's: Those will be close to the perfect size. I would almost consider 245/50's since the s14's wheel wells are so much larger than an s13's. 245/50 doesnt have thatt much sidewall. But I like your idea and where you are going with it. Kosei's actually start to look really good when they have low offets, its a look I love

IMO the gunmetal/anthracite color will look much better on your white kouki then the white on white look above

Yeah, definitely going the darker color to match my darker headlight/grilll/taillight theme

Buddy Club P1 = Kosei K1
Buddy Club on google and you'll get a few stores; they're also on ebay but in honda sizes

oooh time to picture whore :)

I wish I could get better offsets in the rear...but for the price (under 500) w/ brand new tires I can't complain.

16x7.5 +22
16.8.5 +37 *note 5mm spacer i usually put on is not on in those pics, prob not that big of a deal anyways. I painted them myself since they were originally white :wiggle:

michael: those were the difference maker pictures for me, heheh

Does anyone know if the spokes are more or less sunken depending on size? If so I presume that 16x8.5 +17 (lowest available offset) will be as sunken as it gets. From those pix, the 8.5's seem far more sunken than the 7.5's. Sunken is good, i love bandwagons.

I diddnt know they were the same, weird. So that sure as hell explains why they look identical. I searched on Google for places carrying them but they were iffy. I'm actually more interested in the forged ones, whichever model number they are

if you want the sunken look, go with the buddy club P1 II. that's the one that has a dish...michael, what tire size are you running?

its a cooling system for the hood

:werd: Because we all know the hood needs to stay cool. No one wants a hot hood. :mepoke:

J/k man, I couldn't resist. I believe you mean it's to assist cooling of the engine bay. :D

Meh, not a big fan of any of the other Buddy Club designs...at least not for an S14.

The only other rims I want are Gram Light 57S 17x9.5 +22 (low stock), and some Stern Aguzze S-07R's (out of production!).

One day...I will have money.

Tires are 225/45 and 245/45....fronts are going to be replaced w/ 225/50 soon so that it would look more even :/
