Ok so my sr swap is done, I cranked the engine a thousand times but the oil light is still on. I said screw it and took the car around the block to see whats up. I noticed that my valve cover gasket wasn't properly sealed because of oil leaking from the rear end of the valve cover. So I'm guessing if oil is reading the head and leaking from the gasket that it is primed? Well anyways I still get this annoying Oil light, so I get in the car to drive home, about 2 miles of driving on the highway, I step on 5th going around 50ish but if I Push all the way down my engine kind of stutters. WHen it stutters my battery light comes on. So my car dies in the middle of the highway. Tried to jump start the car with no luck. Thinking that it was a bad battery from all the cold starts to crank it, I go buy a new battery....stilll nothing. When I try to start the car it doesn't even get any spark or crank. I'm confused. I even checked the starter before the swap and it is good. ANyone have any suggestions? Could I have ruined something internally by not manually priming the oil? Starter bad? Alternator? ANything else? I'm stumped, please help.

could it be a bad fuse?

I'm not sure, I checked all fuses before driving the car and they all seemed good. I got my wiring done professionally done by Yury at Heavy Throttle so I doubt its the wiring. I'm stumped.

87? you do know you need 91 right? well you checked it before driving it..have you checked it after the problem?

today i'm going to go ahead and siphon the tank out and put 91 in. As for the car not starting, even thought ive already done this im going to take the alternator and starter out to see if that is the culprit. If not, then im going to check all fuses, relays, check continuity and see if thats the problem. If thats not the problem then ill check for codes and open up ecu to see if its fried which i doubt. If thats not the problem then im screwed. heh

check crank angle sensor, mass air flow sensor or the ignitor chip.

When I rebuilt my stock engine I had a problem with the oil light not going off, but I hooked up an oil pressure gauge and oil pressure checked out fine. It was a bad ground between the oil pressure sending unit and it's connector. I bent the metal in the connector a little bit so it got a better ground and works now. That could be the problem with your light not going off, but I suggest if you get it running again hook up a oil pressure gauge if you have access to one.
