I have a 93 DOHC 240sx.  If i port and polish what type of power increase could i expect.  I plan on doing a quality job and i have expirience.  Also if i put a Cam in (Gude) that in creases the power from 4000 to 7000 rpm will that hurt my low end power.  Also what type of header has a good fit for the 240 i was thinking about a hotshot.

Dont get the hotshot header it does not match up with the CAT.... the greddy headers however line right up ! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>

From what I understand... The new hotshot headers are made to line up right.
GReddy is expensive, as you are paying a lotta $$$ for the name, and that little sticker they'll send ya.

On a side note, I do hope that you have given your car an intake system and an exhaust. &nbsp;All those mods, with the exception of the cams, are breather helpers. &nbsp;And you need to do all of them at the same time to gain major hp. &nbsp;Otherwise, alone, the header and porting will not give much more than 3-6hp. &nbsp;Just like the intake is 3 hp, and hte exhaust is 5 hp, but together it is more like 15hp. &nbsp;

oh oh oh!
Didn't see that you said Gude cams. &nbsp;ACK! &nbsp;
Now. &nbsp;There is nothing wrong with the cams, but any cams that you buy and need to send your old ones in are regrinds. &nbsp;Basically a regrind is when they cut the center bar of the cam down, and leave the lobes alone. &nbsp;This makes the center of the cam higher up, and the original lobes will allow the valves to open longer.
The problem is that you will have to get new shims for the cam. &nbsp;This is expensive and a PITA. &nbsp;I have heard shims go for like $20 each and we need 16.

If your worried about the shims, custom shims are alot cheaper at the PDM racing website.. they sell them for $8 a piece.

you can also get them from courtesy nissan for like 6 bucks and you may not need to sometimes, because i have JWT cams which are regrinds and i only needed to change like 3 shims and that was it. all the rest were in the tolerance range and specs of the gap
