Hi,
I have a 1989 nissan 240 sx. Yesterday , all of a sudden i lost pressure in my clutch and i think its the hydraulic system whihc might be leaking.
I wanted to know if someon had the sam problem and if so what needs to be done and the cost involved.
Please advice
well my 91 is at the dealership right now, my pedal pretty much rests on the floor so hopefully I'll found out by lunchtime today....

You're probably looking at the master/slave cylinders being replaced. It could be anywhere between 100 and 200 dollars depending upon whether it's just one or both.
For now, just keep topping off your clutch reseviour, don't let it fall below the "min" line
ok, dealership just called me, apparently the previous owner attempted to replace the slave cylinder, just didn't adjust it correctly and so thats all they did today, $40 fix they said, fine with me, just let me get the damn shifter into each gear without feeling like I'm gonna break it off

if u have no hydr pressure, then one or both of your cylinders is bad.....master cyl at firewall/pedal or slave cyl at trans. u can replace one (ie if one appears to b leaking) and hope the other holds up, but often eventually replace both

I had the same problem w/my 1990, happened on a trip, about 800 miles from home! Needless to say, I was at the mercy of the local Nissan shop. You should expect to replace the master cylinder AND the slave cylinder, if you want it fixed for a while! I paid about $325 for new parts (both MC and slave) and labor. I don't think its a difficult job if you're handy and have tools...I didn't have much choice! Good luck...
