My parents want me to design and build them a deck and these are a few rough drafts I thought of. The room I have to work with it 26' long and 16' deep. The ground is level and the support beams will just about resting on the ground.

try looking into some books on deck building and/or landscaping magazines. they have good examples that may show you design or how to build them.

hahahah fuck you all!

I should have warned all of you about the extreme detail these pictures show. I reworked my design completely and I think my parents are happy with it.

Thanks for the opinions

I'd put the posts in concrete on top of sand. I stays better. And use pressure-treated wood. Or that new crap they have.

hahahahaha I have already finished the desing...much better than the top ones. I will be using pressure treated wood for the joists and southern yellow pine with stain/sealer sprayed on before it is installed, then sanded and reapplied once deck is fully finished.
