Hey Guys and Gals,
I looking to give my car a tune up, I will probably have a fuel service done on it.
I want to change my fuel filter, I hear the 300 zx tt filter is good, is this true, are they compatible?
And besides plugs and wires which are new what else should I do to her to make her run pefect and maybe ge a little more ummpphhh.
Thanks in advance for the help...you guys are great!

I don't know how many miles are on your car, but a distributor cap and rotor replacement could always help. A higher output ignition module, since you already have the distributor cap off. Then I'd flush the engine, with engine flush in a bottle, and the same with the radiator. Re-lube the chassis, and fill the gearbox, or slushbox if that is the case, with good fluids, and change the differential fluid.
Nothing I have said will give you power. But it will regain lost power. And as for the fluids and engine flush, this will help moving things move better, making less friction, with less driveline losses. More regained power.

300zx filter would be the way to go. Its cheaper then the stock filter. Any performance gain is negligible, unless your filter was really clogged.
For spark plugs, I would stick to the factory NGKs. The bosch "two prong" platinums are pretty good too. If you run a lot of city and stop and go, I would experiment with a hotter plug. Don't buy into the "rice" plugs that are like $6.99 each and promise to deliver more hp.
As for wires, NGK factory blues are really good. But I am sure that other quality manufacturers like magnacore, Taylor Made, etc would be good as well. While your at it, I would clean your battery cables, check the engine ground (source of many idle issues), and clean the connectors to your sensors, such as MAF and TPS.
Change all your fluids and run a quart of toulene in your tank to clean out your fuel system.

I've got valvoline in mine right now and it's working pretty well, but yes, redline is the standard.
