A lesson in vinyl: Nissan Badges Suck.

97-98 240 tails are a bit more difficult due to the "stairstepping" style around the Nissan emblem. We had originally planned to cover the entire tail in opaque black vinyl, but were unable to get around the emblem clean enough. Instead, we covered the amber tails in red translucent and the reverse/3rd brake in smoked.

The outcome is subtle, yet very effective.

Now just get some photos of the smoked out lights coming on at night and that would be nice. I've seen similar mods like this plenty of times ... but never any with the lights actually on and at night ... I've tossed around the idea of borrowing a friend's vinyl machine and getting him to slice me up some when he plays with his tail lights, but no one has shown us some night photos. I don't need any anal red neck cops pulling me over because of some vinyl.

The stripes were just for the pictures, I believe they may have come off later.

The tails look hot. In my opinion the amber looks like ass, making it red blends in much better. The smoke looks good too.

I like the tails, honestly. I would recommend against smoking the tails out, however. Don't like the look.

Also mesh on a S14 = no.

You guys should make vinyl for the "180SX" (read: S13 hatch) rear quarter windows that says "Sileighty" instead of "240SX"... lol

Well, when since we all pretty much have beat the shit out of other engine topics and whatnot and turned all that shit into FAQs, nothing to do but BS around about what else we can do to our cars to occupy our time. And it's vinyl covering up tail lights. How is that rice? It's not like we're jumping all over Altezzas and shit. Hell, vinyl is cheaper than paint sometimes and a helluva lot easier to do, too. Takes a lot less times as well.

I think it looks better than stock. The amber in the tail lights doesn't look right. The red and smoke looks nice on a black car.

I like how the red transparent looks but not the smoked :nono:, and that fastback with all red tails reminds me of a lady bug or something.

These were done by professionals and the center Nissan logo was too much of a bend so they just did the rest.

These guys do vinyl, all kinds of stuff, some stuff is ricey and they know that. They would never do it to their cars. They do vinyl on dragcars for events and stuff like that.
