I can't believe the season was cancelled.

I hope the league uses replacement players next year. The NHLPA is a bunch of spoiled brats, they'd take the league to bankrupcy... :madfawk:

There should be a season next year, but the league will look very different. Several teams probably won't exist anymore.

Go Avalanche!

That's what I am thinking. Which teams are gone next year?
Anaheim, Carolina, Columbus? What else?

atlanta? minnesota? nashville?

just guessing.

HaLo

Nah, Minnesota is actually a very good story, it's working out pretty well there. Nashville, you might be right, and Atlanta? I dunno.

RJF

Pittsburgh? Phoenix?

Pittsburgh? Phoenix?

Indeed. They've been on life-support for already a few years...

I hope Nashville doesn't go. I've never been to a NHL game before

Anyways, a few teams less might actually improve the product (less talent dilution).

Well, at least I'll be getting my $700 back for the 5 season ticket games I already paid for. :w00t:

Philly won't disappear, they have a strong market. Phoenix does not, unfortunately.

every day is a sad day for hockey fans. I KID!

Salary cap was discussed but it was something like 4.5 million different from what the teams wanted. Then the comish said.."it's over you spoiled little bitches. You obviously have enough money not to work right now so stop bitching." Then he proceeded to urinate all over the players' cars in the parking lot.

Well, I work just beside the Bell Center in Montreal, and let me tell you, it's completely dead in the neighborhood. I attended the 2 World Championship games this year and you wouldn't believe the celebration on the streets after Canada won... I miss good hockey.

Most of our sports bars are losing money. Jobs are lost in the hockey industry. But the worst part is that we are realizing that we don't need hockey, that there is more to do in winter. So basically, I wonder if the arenas will be full when the NHL comes out of the labour conflict.

NHL should just move to East Coast and Canadia.. cust hats the only place where it can attract fans & make money.

Seriously.

it's like the MLS in the USA. A Joke. No one here likes The-Rest-of-the-World's Football except for people who weren't born here or young suburban white girls who play it :P

NHL simply isn't profitable in most major US markets... and its really sad that NHL players can't accept a cap. Teams already have ways to work around the cap to pay good players what they're worth, like deferred money, signing bonuses etc etc etc

Of course it will most likely dilute the quality of the game (Much like the NFL), or in hockey's case, due to the smaller pool of talent, possibly RAISE the quality of the game...

...

blah

Anyone watch the Daily Show when they talked about hockey? it was funny to me becuase I felt it was true. "This will have no impact on USA whatsoever." Who wants hockey when you live in Hawaii. =]

Yay, Hawaii has the same population as the TOWN in south denver where I grew up.

Thing is. Hockey fans are hardcore. There are no people saying oh ya, I like hockey like people say with football or basketball. Just because they think its cool. We love our sport and most of us actully play hockey or impacts our lives greatly. I dont expect the media to have anything worthwhile to say to america about hockey.

KoukiMonster

meh in canada we have junior hockey like ohl still and its usually more interesting because they play their hearts out because they know that there are people scouting them

I just wished they stopped giving us false hopes that the season could be saved... I miss hockey greatly... Montreal is not the same without our Canadiens... :(
