Easy as hell to open a business, harder than you can imagine to keep one going

Creative Customs Inc., in VA. Like the man above said - not too hard to get up & running, keeping things flowing - thats a whole different ballgame.

hi andrew

Trust me dont open a shop. There is 50 billion shops out there and their is no profitability in just parts, sales. This market is soo whored out you can only sale parts close to cost.

Only service makes money.

hi luke :keke:

when i worked in service i saw that you have to have a very high turnover rate in order to keep up with overhead. that means you better have something saved up at first, cuz no one's gonna wanna be your customer when you're brand new.
better to work at other shops for a few years, and get a reputation for being good. then when you open your own shop, people will already know about you.

And that's the way it should be. There's no way a shop should be charging enough of a percentage on parts to stay in business. That's just a ripoff. Service and custom work is where the money is.

A tip to anyone openening a shop, appeal to ricers. They got all the money.

either that, or be able to do shit that no one else can't do. Don't open a shop and try to do SR swaps. I've seen a million guys trying to do that. Why would I pay them when all it takes is me and a buddy a day or two, versus $700.
