View Full Version : Upgraded SMIC for SR20
Does anyone make upgraded Side mount intercoolers for the stock (or any, really) SR20DET turbos?
I know you can't make them that much bigger, but I'm sure there're more efficient, better flowing SMICs out there...
OR if there's a list online of different Spearco core sizes, one could possibly get a custom one done... but then for the price of custom tanks and piping you might as well get a pre-fabricated FMIC...
any takers?

Try contacting HKS or Greedy suppliers about what they can get. They are available but not as good as a front mount -----SMIC (http://web.norrisdesigns.com/product_detail.asp?ccode=22&id=2&cid=128)
Cool, thanks for the link. too bad the photos don't work on that page. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sigh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>
FWIW I plan on running the stock turbo at just a few psi higher, so I'm not really in the market for a full out FMIC.
Also, in a front end collision the FMIC is going to cost a shitload to repair!
I simply don't have the cash to buy such shiny parts. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

we can get upgraded sidemounts but they cost almost as much as a front mount!!! Alot of drifters use them because they dont always get messed up in an accident and a FMIC almost always does. LOL

ARC makes a good upgrade beefy side mount, but the price is more than a Front Mount only because you would have to special order from Japan while FMIC are readily available in the States.
Well, the Lower ended Greddy 2 Row that you see everyone is selling is probably just as efficient as an upgrade side mount. If you want a good i/c get the Greddy 3 Row, or at least a Blitz LM.
