I dont know anyone who owns anything ss autochrome (manifold, dump pipe, etc)

Do you guys know if their products are quality?

Do they stand by their warranty?

i hear you gotta "make" the manifolds fit... and yea.. everyone seems to love the exhuast they make since its 200 bucks...

All stainless manifolds will crack if installed incorrectly. Proper torqueing of manifold to head studs/nuts, use of all exhaust hangers, and initial cleaning before running all contribute to a longer life.

Even if they are installed correctly they will eventually crack because of heat cycling.

so if all ss manifolds will crack, then why do people praise the JIC manifolds and other JDM ss manifolds? What makes theirs better than the ssautocrome?

ssautochrome uses thinner material for the runners. Brace the manifold and support the exhaust weight by mounting it on the block, and you shouldnt run into any problems.

Because they're JDM. Anything JDM has to better because it's just cool.

I've NEVER seen a cracked KA or SR autochrome manifold, everyone bashes them, but i have not seen 1! If i had a DOHC id try the autochrome manifold, it looks pretty nice.

I've seen a few pics... but I am trying the product.. pretty sure it will crack... i am going to port my stock exhaust manifold instead.

Cutting the header flange between the ports may help with expansion. Good bracing and a flexible downpipe would probably lengthen the life of the SSautochrome manifolds significantly. I believe their new style $179 manifolds are slightly better than before.

they give a lifetime warranty so i am gonna get one... if it cracks, they will replace it free

I've seen a cracked "jdm tyte yo" jic manifold here in the states. How much do they go for? like $600-700? The hks one goes for $900. I haven't seen a cracked hks...yet. Then again that's probably because not too many people have them. Also, if I spent $900 on an hks manifold that cracked i sure as hell wouldn't post about it, especially on zilvia haha

Old SSAutochrome manifolds use to crack alot. The new re-designed ones don't, they're even guaranteed. Its true about not being installed correctly, but the jdm ones are made a little bit better, thus the price increase. Just buy the SS, if it f*cks up, send it back for a new free one. ;)

how do you tell the diff between the new ones and the old ones?
is it just the reinforcements onto the flange?

buy one from them now and it'll be the new one...buy one used and you're retarded

The only manifold that wont crack is extremly expensive but worth it. Pretty much everything else will crack, just some sooner than others

I have noticed that they offer a 304 or 321 Stainless manifold, any idea on the differences and how it may effect longetvity?

The bottom mount manifold they have for the SR is 800 bucks (or so). Damn cheap if looking at all the manfuctures products together. Local shop here in Melbourne has a SR with the Top Mount manifold with a GT28 something... Its really boss, I'll post pics when I go back.
