Here's a link to the pics. I also have a video clip but I don't have a place
to host it. If someone can help, it'll be greatly appreciated.

My exhaust fell off on the freeway so I figured it was a great opportunity to try and make one. I've always liked how the Greddy DD looked so I attempted to make something similiar. You have to realize that this is my first time welding. I had a lot of help from my cousin.
Moved the outlet closer together.
Grid and sand everything down.
Spraying everything down with high temp. paint.
Then I received the Magnaflow tips and realized that the bend after the muffler was too great. It didn't allow for the tilt that I wanted.
Decided to take 2.5" off the back of the muffler since the tips I ordered were 18" long and I only had 12" from the tip of the muffler to the bumper.
I didn't want the tip sticking to far pass the rear bumper.
Second time I had to repaint the exhaust.
After having cut and welded the muffler back together I found out that I still couldn't use the "S" bend and had to redo it. But I'm happier with the result since now it's more of a straight pipe. So I would have saved alot of time and effort if I had realized this a bit sooner.
I did cover that oxidation up on the right hanger. But it was 2am when I finished so I was to lazy to do it.
Here is how it looks on the car.
I used a highflow resonator with a Flowmaster muffler and 3.5" Magnaflow tips. The piping is all 3". There's a lot of things that I would do differently, like move the muffler further under the car and run 2.5" piping to the tips, but I'm happy with the results for my first time at making my own exhaust and learning how to weld.

looks like it sticks out a little further than the dd but still a good first time exhaust job.

Mount the muffler next to the driveshaft next time and run to pipes next to each other from there. Good first try. Better than I could do.

How does it get that bad really?
Yes, it does. I was driving around for over a month with just the stock resonator. But I think the real issue was that the hangers broke.

how does it sound?
I think it sounds pretty good. It's more throaty and deep than what you would hear on a civic. It's not as loud as I thought it would be even though the muffler is almost a straight through with just a splitter. I'm running a resonator also so that muffles it a bit. I can't say it doesn't sound good since I'm bias towards it. I'll post a sound clip later.

what did you use to fill up that gap with after you moved the outlet closer? if your were planning on doing that up front, you could as well make your own muffler...
Sweet still waitig dyno and sound clips though?

how much did it cost overall
If I remember correctly it's:
$65 for Muffler (Flowmaster)
$45 for Resonator
$65 for Stainless Steel 18" Tips. (Magnaflow with 15 degree cut, it goes from 2.5 inlet -> 3.5" outlet)
$10 for 5' of 3" Mild Steel
High Temp Paint
Sheet Metal
5' of 1/4" rod to make the hanger and I used the nub from the stock hanger.
So around $200 for this setup. Also you have to have access to a welder and such.
what did you use to fill up that gap with after you moved the outlet closer? if your were planning on doing that up front, you could as well make your own muffler...
I bought a piece of sheet metal for 2 bucks. Also I wasn't planning on moving the outlet, I think they sell ones with the outlet being closer together already. The truth is that things weren't really thought out. It was more of, if doesn't fit we'll make it fit attitude. I can tell you that I would approach it differently now but it was a great learning experience.
Sweet still waitig dyno and sound clips though?
I can email you a clip but I don't have a place to host it. As for dynoing it, that's not going to happen since I'm sure it'll be minimal power gain but I do feel a difference. That can also just be me because I was driving around a Civic for a week as I was working on the car.

Muffler/tips from Ebay.
Resonator - Muffler show in City of Industries, CA. It's off of the 605 on Valley
Sheet metal/rod - Steel company in City of Industries, CA.
Pipe - from Horsepower located in Arcadia, I head you can get cheap
3" U bends ($17) in Signal Hills. I have the info somewhere if you need it.

Hey, go right ahead. But I suggest getting the right muffler from the start and
placing it further back and running dual 2.5" pipes from it.
