I'm considering getting aero bumpers front and back for my kouki and keeping my stock sideskirts. I'm thinking about Version Select Type I for the front and Chargespeed for the rear. Do you guys think it will look good? Any pics of similar setups?
Thanks.

There is a picture thread you know. :mephfawk:

If its not an oem bumper, rest assured, its probably not going to flow right with oem side skirts. Either go full aftermarket aero or full stock aero, one or the other. Refer to the picture thread for pics or look at our gallery. You should find something along the lines of what you're looking for.

I'm going to steal your rear lip. You can keep the bumper.

It won't be hard. It was damaged during uninstall or shipping so it only has 2 bolts + double side tape, the part where it meets the fender is cracked...buahahah
Maybe its time for some more zip-tie action
Future: Uras hood and vented fenders. Who needs aftermarket aero?

Thanks. I actually agree with you that it won't look too good. Anyway, with cheap, quality aero like VS available now, there really isn't a reason to go any cheaper.
I did look through the picture thread and the gallery. Here's what I found for those that want actual information instead of just bitching:

Don't take this so seriously, it's just car chat. I admit you have a point though.

No, they aren't. I've seen the car in person, i've stood next to it, i've talked to the owner, Fliprayzn (sp?).
that is a knockoff of the GP Sports Type R Sonic (II, i think), which in turn is modeled after a JDM s14 kouki bumper with the optional Aero lip molded on. Fiberglass, no urethane, and can be found on Yahoo Japan for a reasonable price, about the same as a used OEM bumper; good luck shipping it here, sucker.
Sides are the stock s14 kouki ones, rears are Greddy add-ons (NOT BOMEX or JDM ZENKI).
The owner, if he sees this thread, can confirm, but that is what I recall being told (and seeing the same stuff online)

The lip changes the look of the kouki bumper significantly. It's sharper and sits lower, and no longer flows with oem kouki skirts.
So yes, it is way different, at least if u want your aero to match.
What lip is that? I'm planning on getting the c-west lip for my jdm front but I haven't seen it on too many cars so iono. Nice looking kouki. Sell me your valances! :)

I'm assuming you're talking about Supra Hunter. Thats the JDM optional Aero lip for kouki's.
It was available in a package with the rear valences.
Also an option was getting the Zenki side skirts with the kouki lip and valences, they flow a million times better together than the kouki skirts. Just ask Turdz.

OptionZero got pics of the zenki sides with Kouki aero? I was thinking that it would flow much better than the kouki sideskirts but never really a good pic... also isn't the zenki sideskirt a little higher than the kouki? I already hate the fact that my rear bumper is so high...

This is the best I got of zenki on kouki...this would be a complete optional aero package from the dealer as far as I nkow

Notice how it maintains much sharper lines throughout? Compare that to a naked kouki bumper coupled with standard kouki skirts, which share round, organic lines. Thats also why i refused to go with a jdm kouki bumper , even with valences...too sharp.
I believe my friend Turdz here in Davis is gonna have the same look as the silver car, except he's missing the lip (haha chris!). Hopefully, we can get some side by side shots that will be hotness
Here's a good side shot on a zenki:

(picture is too big for direct link)
maybe you can compare distance from wheel wheels and such
one big thing is you see the line from the top of the the lip, on the sides of the bumper? It perfectly lines with the top of the zenki skirts...nice uniformity

I've got the full Kouki Aero but the Trust lip instead of the OEM one, (and my rear valences are the IC copies but that doesn't make a difference) but the trust lip isn't much different, just a little sharper and lower. Only pic I have available on this computer is this one...

The USDM kouki sides looked like crap, the JDM optional ones flow with the rears and front lip. I can take some more pics if you'd like.

Kouki-KaT does the zenki sides sit higher or lower than the kouki sideskirts? I have a set of the zenki ones that i was going to sell but now i might keep it.

They are very close, by design it looks like the JDM ones are higher but when I go to put the jack under my car it's the same..... doesn't fit. The bigger difference is the USDM ones seem to stick OUT a little further.

arent those sideskirts zenki aero? i thought the jdm kouki aero sideskirts were the same ones they made here in the US for 97-98 models. :wtf:

No, they were a factory option on both zenki and kouki.

such an influx of jdm kouki interest lately...
that silver kouki is basically my inspiration and what I'm after...may sound stupid, but I've been admiring that for a good 1.5 years looking for the parts.

they look a lot better with the lip IMO
