Looking for the above... I'm hoping someone made copies rather than the oem brand cause... well it's jdm oem and that's expensive. Thanks for any iquiries.

no, as you posted....dont go with the INNER CIRCLE rear valences. oem seems to be the best way to go. jspec just sells them, they don't make them.

If you truly want bolt on, no probs with brackets, go with genuine OEM. But if you don't mind a little body work here and there, the IC are a good value, especially if you have body shop or knowledge hookups.

Go with OEM if you want a "perfect" fitting part but be prepared to pay the price.

If you order fiberglass you have to keep in mind it's an imperfect process, because it's all hand-laid which means there's human error. Every fiberglass piece that is made comes out unique from the last piece, it's not a bad thing unless the mold was rushed and basically sucks.

There are bad fitting parts, and realllllly bad fitting parts. Bad fitting parts can be "made" to work, while reallllllly bad fitting parts are probably going to require, cutting, re-fiberglassing, fusing, extending, etc....

rsp-13 i agree. I did some composite work, namely carbon fiber for aerospace grade parts, and if the mold isn't CNC machined from any sort of mold (high density foam namely) then building a mold from scratch is a bit tricky... and those valances aren't cheap either. I'll wait till a deal comes up for oem ones. I'm not keen on spending 400 dollars on valances though.

That looks fine man. Pull in the top and the bottom. How did you plan on attaching this rear valence? Double sided tape, molding, pop rivets?

Are you kidding me? That 1/2" gap wraps around the whole corner so it can't just be pressed up to fit, and the pics are taken with 2 people pressing them as tightly as possible without breaking them down the middle as it is. You can't pull in anything. The only way to make them fit would be to cut out the whole middle, attach the top and bottom and re-fiberglass the middle section.
They do not fit. Even if I were able to pull it apart enough to mount them double sided tape would not be able to hold it, and rivets would rip right through the fiberglass. It was hard enough to get them to fit as closely as they do in those pics and the pieces were at their stress limits.

EDIT: so I've been told I am somehow installing them wrong, and that there SHOULD be a gap on the bottom part of the lip, even on the OEM ones. I've seen several sets of OEM ones and none had a big gap between the valance and the lower half of the lip on the bumper..... But I will try fitting them AGAIN for the 4th time....

for comparision purposes, and to beat this topic to death :hsdance:

and no, double sided tape will not make that stick or fit flush. I've had other experiences with as much gap as the IC ones, and it's so frustrating since it looks like it will fit, almost fits perfect, but comes slightly short.

Damn.. why didn't I think of doing that? haha nice chop Turdz.

Heh yeah nice chop, it looks like it would work because you don't see how that gap continues as it wraps around the corner.. if were simply just a gap on that flat portion of the bumper it would be no problem.
I'll post new pics tomorrow night after installing them as Sam recommends, the IC ones may fit after all??

does the double sided tape hold up really well?

Once again.. 3M Body panel adhesive is the "double sided tape" to get.

I put JDM hood emblem on using this..and it was pretty damn difficult to remove. Just as strong if not stronger than the OEM stuff.

that would work, you might want something of a smaller thickness, like maybe .50'' + or - .25''.

It will be more versatile in the long run. that's what Smog Tech recommended anyway...I got my roll from the same guy selling above. Pretty fast shipping, good product.

72 yards? Damn..you can send me the left overs.

I just checked and I bought 1/2" adhesive... 1/4" may be too small, but it'll work.

I got the 72 yds one too, that is a bit much, isn't it? I even bidded on it and got it for around 11 bux w/o shipping hehe. I think I'm going to use them for the side skirts and front lip...oh, did I say front lip...? :coold:

I tried refitting the IC ones again today. With the tips Sam gave me and a little sanding on the inside of the valences I was able to make them fit pretty well, only a small gap about 4-5mm along the bottom portion of the lip on the rear bumper. I'll post updated pics soon.
I was wrong about how bad the fitment was on these, so I suck.
