Alright I looked at weight layout and while putting sheetmetal over the spare tire well and mounting it there seems to be the obvious choice I need my trunkspace occasionally. My slicks just fit in there right. anyways running fixed race buckets, I was thinking of mounting the battery where the rear seat used to be, nitrous mounted on the other side. any reason why I shouldn't do this?

old_S13 has his optima bolted to a bar on his roll cage, i think. you should be good.

as long as it's a sealed battery.

Or you can save all that weight from the mounting bracket, the extra wire, and a still somewhat heavy battery, and just put in a super high quality really little one in the engine bay. As in the one pdm-racing sells. THERE TAKE THAT!

wootwoot: as in an odyssey battery? so basically the same one I'm putting in there as it is? haha take that!

as far as sealed it still won't pass tech so I've still got to run a sealed battery box which I am doing.

Makoto - Aside from SCCA/NHRA/whatever restrictions, what's your reason for recommending the righthand-rear of the trunk instead of putting it closer to the center of the car? It seems like it would be better to have necessary weight like a battery as close to the CG of the vehicle as possible.

offset the drivers weight

Have your car weighed with you in it. Asumming you use individual scales for all corners, see what corner has the lowest weight. (It'll be rear passenger) So that's where you put the battery to even the weight distribution(sp?)

other than front/back weight distribution doesn't affect my setup. car won't be seeing to many corners.

I know thats the best spot but its not the practical spot until I can get a support vehicle to put slicks in and tools and stuff for when I'm on my way to the track.
