I was going to go ka-t prolly in mid summer. I know all the parts I need, but one question that I never got a clear answer from anyone on was this:
- Do you NEED a turbo back exhaust to run a turbo? Is it necessary, or will a ka exhaust work just fine (it will be a boost designs stage one kit). Also, will a stock ka exhaust work for a sr? (question for my bandwagoneer buddy)

I know but will a stock exhaust work with a kat, or is it necessary to buy a turbo back exhaust. I will eventually, but can I drive the car in the meantime?

BD kits only work with BD exhausts.

Thanks. I just needed to know. I'm a n00b to turbos. Never owned or driven one. Thanks for your input though.

That makes no sense. BD uses components from other companies in their turbo kits. They actually manufacture very little of it themselves. I thought their downpipe was made by another company.

No, you can only run the BD exhaust with the BD turbo kit. The DP and exhaust were designed by him to only fit each other. You have to have a mid-pipe made to fit anything else.

Yeah you can keep your stock exhaust on there but you are robin yourself of power. As long as you have a down pipe to the stock exhaust you should be fine.

Your engine won't be able to get rid of the extra air that it is producing. More air in equals more air out. It is turbo......
