ayte well i got a s14sr blacktop swapd in my s14 professionally a while ago...swap looked clean and all...start it off with almost stock..then came on fmic dp exhaust..hotpipe bov....etc... well i knew i woudnt have much power when it was basicly stock....after fmic dp and all the other bolt ons were on i figured i woud be makin decent power.....but naw...the motor seems to be fine...it doesnt smoke...it idles fine...good compresion...but the power is not ther and its very obvious...the car sputters at 5k a lot of times when i get on it...like hitting the revlimiter....checkd for leaks...coudnt find any...i thought it woud be good to get my car dynoed.....but thats not gona fix anything then to tell me im not anywher i shoud be....i got bolt on preludes and integras and even non turbo ka keeping up with me...at 10psi...i never got around to posting this...and its been a problem for a while now....i was wondering if any one gone through this before..if so any suggestions for me?..tnx. :x:

oh yeah I forgot to ask you if you tried resetting your ECU, unplug the battery + cable for about 5 min and after that see if it still acts up!
and it also sounds like your spark plugs arent gapped correctly they should be at .9 mm

speed sensor hooked up?? it has to be for vtc to work... also did u check the condition of ur turbo?

"do you have a aftermarket BOV is recirculated?" - Been talkin about this...and looks like we gona get to it...i have the HKS SSQV...what is the best thing to use to re-circ it?

what are u using for a mafs, do u have a safc? i know when it was about freezing outside mine cut out at about full boost because my mafs was messing up because i never changed my safc since it was warm. do u have a good air/fuel guage. i have a aem eugo and its helps me alot on the street. i think u have a tuning problem

mine are at .032....woud gaping them down the .028 help that much?

hmm, if it sounds like a revlimiter at 5k I would check codes. A sensor may be loose too.

plugs might be fowled.
Mine has similar symtoms. I got the NKG platinums, 1 step colder
Ran harder and faster then ever before. gapped at 30
Do you have an upgrader fuel pump? FPR?

Could the location of the BOV be a part of the problem ?

To recirc the HKS BOV just buy the recirc fitting from HKS or wherever for $20 and run some tubing to your intake.
hmmm welll i reset my ecu by unplugin my battery for 5min....the next day i drove the car...the clutch was all different? wth? it felt good tho...i dont think reseting had anything to do with it but yeah....and over alll the car was smoother....so far soo good...
