Me and my friend were drifting around in this one industrial are around here. It was around 3am. Long story short, we hit a curb. We want to know what parts we need to replace, and if anyone in So Cal is selling them. Here are pics of the damage. I just need names of the parts that were damaged so we can fix it.

Right front wheel

HAHAHHA. Okay. Front is lower control arm, TC rod, and Bushings for endlink. Rear is the rear lower control arm (A-Arm). Give me food.

I believe that's called "oversteer wreckage syndrom"

I almost had the same damage 2 years ago, its a really easy fix, just go to the junkyard, get alignment adn done. I had to get a new tie rod, tie rod end, control arm and ball joint that has to be pressed in

EDIT: almost the same, all my damage as on the front right passenger side, nothing in the rear.

G fish, how much did it cost you?

Actually.. it wasn't oversteer, it was understeer.

Usually with understeer.. I would think you'd hit the driver's side.

Edit. haha nm.. I guess you were making a left.

ALTRNTV
02-04-2005, 09:40 PM
Yea, we were making a left, but the car didn't want to follow. =p

perfect time to upgrade parts.

I spent about 60 total, most of it was having to buy a brand new ball joint and having it pressed into the control arm

EDIT: Thats not including alignment, that was 50 with a coupon :)

maybe it's just me, but I don't think you should be "drifting" if you don't know what that stuff is. But you wern't drifting so it's all good.

holy sh*t! you did a fine job of snapping that tension rod! from what i can see there is:

front:
tension rods
lower control arms
inner tie rods, can't tell with outters until they're off. better just replace em anyways
swaybar endlink/bushes
the swaybar mount hole looks a bit bent but it'll be fine with new endlink.

rear:
lower control arm got :Owned: . get a new one.
not sure about the toe arm or the trac rods, or the upper arms. alignment shop will tell you.
go for swaybar endlink if you want to be safe

If i was in ur situation, id just go for all adjustable arms. the ebay ones are good enough. but all the stock stuff can be had for under 150 from a wreck.

ALTRNTV

Well, we're just going to get stock stuff for now, since we just want to get it running again. Time to hit the junkyard.

ALTRNTV

So far, people are going to sell me

front tension rod
tie rods w/ endlinks

All I need from the junkyard are LCA's and a front sway bar. Did I forget something?

Don't forget new tires...

Did you drive it home? Because if you havent checked it out yet, you might have internal damage w/ your steering rack. If you need one, I got a rebuilt steering rack for sale in SD for $100 with tie rods attatched.

Dutchmalmiss
02-05-2005, 12:14 PM
lol, you're lucky i only bought 2 steelies from you then or else you would've been screwed. anyways, at the junkyard, the bushings and the tension rod should be "free" if you can figure out pocket space. the total shouldn't go over 50-60 bucks if it's all from a junkyard.

dude, don't be a dumbass. you understeered because your front tires suck the utmost of balls that can be suck. steelies? up front? you've diminished the point of front-end control. now you're replacing all your shit because you didn't wanna buy a decently good wheel/tire combo.

Dude calm down, everyone learns with what they have. Don't preach about the tires being "suck", because I learned with a completely stock '86 GTS with stock 14's and it performed up to par.

AkademikONE: You're doing the right thing learning the car first in stock trim before upgrading everything right out of the box and thinking the car will "Drift" for you. Learn on the stock car, it's the best advice I could ever give.

yup, learning stock is the rock.

Well, it isn't my car. As you can see in my sig, I have an s14. This is my friends car that was damaged. Yes, he does have shit tires all around. Actually, I have a pretty good tire/wheel combo. I have 300zx rims with Falken GRB FK451's, so I wouldn't exactly call that sorry ass tires. I'm also on Tokico shocks with Sportlines.

Another thing, before you make assumptions, I wasn't the one drifting.

Johny5
02-06-2005, 08:48 AM
hey, learn this, i'm the assumer of all assumptianos. second, learning stock SUCKS. haha i'm the fucking captain of unexplainable understeer from my kyb agx/eibach sportline combo. 16x6.5 with 55 sidewall bottom-of-the-barrel dunlops can suck my choad. it was a necessary experience, but i laugh at it now.

Yea, understeer sucks ass. I'm just happy it wasn't my car.

holy fuck, i did the same thing! my right passenger side is wonky now. You gotta get a new tension rod, control arm, and maybe even new brace for the tension rod. i hit up Ctune for the Nismo Power brace for 180, and 20 for a used OEM control arm. i got the tension rod at a pickapart. Hit me up if you have problems!

haha I had solid tc rods, went down a friends driveway kinda fast one night and he's got this little speed bump thing that keeps water from going down the hill and eroding away the gravel real bad, it was dark, I forgot about it, and hit it doing like 30mph, got air and ended up breaking the lower core support clean off the car, had to weld it back one.
but anyways main reason I posted was to say definitely check your steering rack for damage, you could have broken teeth and stuff.
