I've been searching, but I cannot find:

I have heard that the 240 seats are very light.
I was wondering, however:
I have the s14 leather seats, how much do these weigh compared to the average racing seat? (with mounting brackets)

Thanks

heavier than my Sparco Corsa and custom brackets. By maybe 10 lbs. They are pretty light, but a good racing seat will be lighter.

Fucking pick it up. If you cannot lift it over your head, then save weight by siphoning all of the gas out of your car. Then jog around the block. Then, realize you are a retard for worrying about this.

What the fuck, I asked not because I'm trying to save that 5 lbs and waste 600 bucks, I asked because if I were to get racing seats and they were heavier than my stock seats that would give me more incentive not to get them... I want them for fucking seats and I'm deciding whether or not to waste the money on them or a number of other parts.
And thanks for the original losing weight on your car jokes, change your 8 year old mentality and get a life.

My 95 base with cloth seats weighed in at 35lbs each

okay man i know this may be hard for you to understand but try to think what we see:

you are a guy asking us to give a comparison of RACE SPEC PART to an OEM run of the mill part.

even IF racing seats were somehow heavier than the suckballs leather S14 seats you'd be a thousand times happier with em due to the fact that good seats ROCK.

And I'd be a thousand times happier with a s15 conversion and a 500 hp sr... Does that mean I'm going to spend the money on it?
and I'm deciding whether or not to waste the money on them or a number of other parts.
So I just wanted to observe this Factor when deciding whether or not to buy them.
Thank you for the reply, though.

fuck you guys, does everyone flame now because they want to be hardcore? go to Freshalloy, and search for a weight thread one of the guys there created. He weighed everything in his car. That will answer all your weight questions. Then you can google race seat weights yourself.

it's not the single part that weighs 5-15 lbs less. It's the 15 parts that way that much less that all add up. but nice try.

let's not forget that a nice race seat only weighs 11-16lbs, versus a stock 240sx seat that weighs about 35+. Now replace both of them, and you have 5 whole lbs of weight savings! Yaayyyyy for math! :x:

...if the 240 community were left up to Zilvia, the Honda kids would make fun of us.

I dont know, I think so...
Every single post I've read by that Makoto guy has been derogatory and way past useless. I saw that he posted on here and I didn't feel like reading my own thread until the next day... It's a community, not a place to vent your frustration on the world by acting higher than everyone else.

And I did google, but I found a whoooole bunch of crap. And I'm a good googler, but every search came up BS.
I searched here too, there was a post here where a guy listed several parts but he omited seats.

And thanks, again.

Some guys just need friends :( That is my take on the guys with useless posts.

As far as the seats, I got 33.5lbs on the stock cloths from a Zenki S14. Remove the passenger seat as well if not used, if your goal is saving weight. That is a start...

how the hell did i not give you good advice? i gave good, sound, rational advice AND i know that leather S14 seats suck balls cause i've sat in em.

\leather S14 seats VS any decent racing seat isn't even a contest. leather is heavier than cloth. stock is heavier than atermarket...

the problem here is that you just don't want to accept the fact that you're trying to rationalize your crappy seats as being better and that just isn't possible. i didn't flame or rip on anybody dude, i gave solid advice.

suck it up and stop being a whinebag.
