View Full Version : Group Buy: True HID Kits! Round 2

Jeff240sx

I've had alot of people ask me if I'm going to do a second groupbuy for HID kits. The short answer: Yes.
I didn't want to step on the toes of HIDplace, but they are no longer advertisers, and I've gotten the product and am shipping out kits from the first group buy.

Who: You will deal directly with me. I've been asked about my credentials. So here these are:
I'm a moderator here. I'm on every other board possible. I've been an active member for 3 years.
Here is my ebay feedback:
http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=jeff240sx
That is 410+ positive feedbacks from 380+ unique users. 0 negatives. And I don't just buy stuff, I actually sell "ricer lights (hahaha!)" every day. I'm really not out to screw people. And, I've had a successful groupbuy on these previously.

What: Kaixen HID kits. These can be found from $299 and up, plus shipping. I can get down to $280 shipped for the first 10 sets. $270 for 15 sets. $260 for 20 sets, and $255 for 25+ sets. SAME SHIPPING PRICE TO CANADA.

This is a full kit, ready to install. I've installed one on a friend's Tahoe and it required no cutting, and was done in an hour. "They're crazy bright," according to him.

http://www.kaixen.se/kaixen_kit_kit.jpg

Available in:
6000K, 6500K, 7500K, and 8500K.
http://www.kaixen.se/kaixen_colortest.jpg

These kits come with a 1 year warranty, available to the purchaser. I've been around for 3 years. I'll be here for another year.

When: I am starting this now. It WILL ONLY GO A WEEK. Maybe a week and a half.

How: This is a preorder. I don't need to hit a quota. The payment is nonrefundable. The shipment will take 30-45 days from the moment I place the order, plus or minus a few due to customs. If a buyer backs out, I am keeping the money, because I'm not losing $280 because someone would rather have a new steering wheel. If you can find another buyer for your set, that's fine.

If anyone is interested, let me know. As I said.. one week only.

4100K or 4200K? It says 4100 in the pic.

100K isnt gonna make a difference

Jeff240sx
02-01-2005, 07:25 PM
It's 4100K with this company then. But ya, 100k won't make a noticable difference.

do these come in dual beam? and what kind of ballasts and bulbs are included in this kit?

Jeff240sx
02-02-2005, 11:44 PM
No dual beam. Those are $500 kits. Bulbs and ballasts.. in the picture. They're made by kaixen.

I found a GB for $250 shipped a set..can you beat that? It doesn't matter on purchase quantity...

Jeff240sx
02-03-2005, 01:25 PM
No, I can't. As far as I know, dealers for Kaixen aren't allowed to advertise that low. The MSRP is $399, and $299 is the lower a dealer can advertise. I'm not a dealer.. so I can go for what I'm getting them for (I make pocket change off these gb).
What's the gb link?

I posted the link, but it magically disappered. But PM sent.

I didn't delete the link, however, those aren't Kaixen bulbs, so you can't really compare.
Good luck with those bulbs though. I however, am keeping the Kaixen in my car.

how many ppl are in on this so far?

Jeff240sx
02-05-2005, 12:10 PM
Zero. There isn't a minimum buy in. But I'm buying some lights to sell on ebay, and they'll go for $320+shipping. I'm just letting Zilvia members buy in at what I'm paying. If I order more quantity, the price for me goes down, and so the price for you will go down. And my profit margin on Ebay goes up :)

hey just wondering what one are you selling or are you selling all 3 differnt types. and how long do i have i get paid this week

02-08-2005, 02:46 AM
dont mean to sound dumb but, say I bought the 4100k kit and later decided I would like the 6500k, would I jsut need to buy and change the bulbs?

Jeff240sx
02-08-2005, 09:40 AM
I'm selling all different types. If you needed some 9006 for a Honda, I would order them for you. Any color you choose. And as I said, I'll be placing an order in about a week, but it probably won't include much 240sx stuff, because Honda bulbs fly off the shelves.

And Sticky240, Kaixen only goes as low as 6000K, which is still very white. But if you wanted a different color, yes, you would just swap bulbs. They're ~$100/pair for new bulbs.

hmm, 6000k, is it glarey? No 4100k?

Jeff240sx
02-08-2005, 12:35 PM
No 4100K from this company. 6000K is white, however.
Glare is fully dependant on your housings. Kouki (97-98) models have low glare from what I've seen.

I would need a different kit for the s13 right?

Jeff240sx

S13 you'd need a H4 conversion housing.

Yes, but will the high beam work?

Projekt_Sil80
02-08-2005, 08:00 PM
It was previously posted, it's a single beam

Jeff240sx
02-08-2005, 10:50 PM

how much time left to send money. I'm just wondering i need them for a s14 i belive the bulbs are h4

Jeff240sx
02-09-2005, 11:51 PM
Depends. If paying by paypal, I'd like it by Sunday. If paying by check/money order.. you need to get it out ASAP. Probably monday at the latest, and you'll need to give me some proof (tracking number, ect) that it's comming, in order for me to add another set to my shipment.
I can work with you and take a 50% deposit on these, if that makes life easier. You pay the other 50% once I get the bulbs in, just like my last GB.

Jeff, you said that you had some that you could ship out immediately?
I need one H3C or whatever, for the s13 silvia dual projectors.

I want to make sure that they are H3c, and I wont have to do any modifications.
Let me know wassup, PM would be appreciated.

If you could make this work for me, I'll be willing to pay tonite, or tomorrow.

where are these made? noticed that two white boxes have two headed hawk with shield in the center with warrior on a hourse slaying a dragon of some sort which is symbol of Russian federation/Moscow

whats the estimated life span for those bulbs and how much is it to replace one of them?

Jeff240sx
02-10-2005, 08:01 PM
The bulbs are made in Sweden. The lifespan of the bulbs are 10,000 hours, which is 10x as long as a halogen. Replacement bulbs are ~$90. A bit less if I order bulk, but I think that's close to price for a single set.

If anyone has any questions so I don't blow up this thread anymore than I already have, feel free to e-mail me at I'll gladly tell you what I know.

you should have made a new post in general or something

to ruin someones group buy is a pretty shitty thing to do

Jeff240sx
03-26-2005, 08:21 AM
This has been discussed before, in a seperate thread, and in the first groupbuy means the whole post was HID kits are not legal. Nor are SR swaps. And turboing the KA. And the 300zx brake swap.
The chances of getting caught are substantially higher for me than for any user. Nobody will get messed with if their lights are properly aimed. I've seen worse glare on retrofit pics than my gf's cougar has with these kits.
Anyway.. glare free - these are not. Low glare - definately. Have I driven behind cops with the hid-cougar? Definately. It's a non-issue.
But for a poster to come in and completely trash me, and the kits.. is unnecessary.

well...I was under the impression we were getting Kaixen Kits. I recieved a Korzen kit.

We'll see how it turns out

Same company.. same parts. The ignitor got built into the ballast, rather than externally as before.

I'm happy with the results, but I kinda wish I got something less blue w/ more light output. Still not sure why the passenger side isnt as bright as the drivers side though...

Headlights need to be slightly reaimed, but other than that still looks badass regardless. :D
