Go w/ a coilover.
you are loosing too much stroke going that low...

Agreed! You need to check out Tein basics or Tanabe pro ss-oc2's. Both on www.modacar.com

only springs that will lower your car that much will be APC or matrix but if you really want springs go with sportlines i like mine and they lower around an inch

i had the sportlines as well before my silkroads and it dropped pretty good. cant comment on the other ones cause i havent tried it but i do recommend getting coilovers. even the cheaper ones like d2 and megan racing do the job a lot better than the shock/spring combo.

Espelir springs give a good drop. You can get them from driftspeed.com. I have the Espelir ASD springs in my car and I really like them. They give a great drop for being just springs. Check out my sig or my cardomain site for pics.

if you dont want to go w/ coilovers.. go w/ some kgmm springs.. sits a bit lower than sportlines, if not the same.. n they are a bit stiffer too..

You dont want to lower your car too aggressively with simply springs. The stroke and valving on stock and aftermarket oem style shocks is not sufficient enough for that much lowering. Also, if you lower your car that much, your suspension geometry will change and you will run into serious bump steer issues because the front roll center will be raised. (you'll need something like Kazama tie rod ends that come w/spacers to fix that)

If you want to keep ride quality and performance of your car, i wouldnt go over 1.5". Any more than that and you will more than likely be downgrading your car's performance.

Its true go to low and you get to know your strut tower petty well, or at least you bumpstops. I have tein s whatever springs, not as low as the sportline but close and are only a bit stiffer than stock but ar not progressive. (stiff enough so i did not notice the 4 dead shocks when i bought it, untill the float)

i have tein s-tech on my 90 240sx, it dropped 1.5 inches, ride quality is better, hanling improved, it's not bouncy when driving

Yeah, I agree with Mikefd3s. I'm pretty sure all 4 of my struts are blown now, but oh well. Looks decent enough and I don't auto-x or anything yet. But hey, I'm cheap and they were only $150 with free shipping, I couldn't pass it up. These are just keeping me until I can afford some coilovers. Til then I can deal with hitting the bump stops.

what kind of shocks are you going to run? anything kyb over 2 inch from factory drop and you are voiding the warranty.

also, as mentioned in the first post and neglected by the majority of everyone else, running that much of a drop, you are forcing the shock to do the same amount of work with less travel = bad news

might as well go coilover if you can afford it

do it right or dont do it at all

go ghetto like me.
i bought some dropzone threaded collars and i am ordering custom rate coilover springs from hyper coils. that and agx shocks.
all regular drop springs are pretty soft.
im getting 4k F and 3.5k R
except for RSR race evrything else is softer.
if you have the money i would go with the tein basic IF you like their springrates. ( i dont)

MEgan racing drops pretty low and stiff

mine has sprint springs with kyb agx, but i'd highly recommend getting the whole damper kit. sooner or later, depending on your driving conditions, your shocks might bottom out and die on ya, so the damper kit is the best way to go. most aftermarket shocks are meant to fit onto your stock spring setup. if you don't specify the "drop", that's what they're gonna give you. and if you ask them, they won't recommend it, unless they want your money and don't really care how your car runs. like JuJuBee said, a lot of aftermarket shock companies will void your warranty if your car is dropped more than 2 inches. and believe me, they can tell. anyway, damper kits are meant for lowering a car, it'll come with shorter stroke shocks, since you want to drop your car 2 1/2 inches, it won't bottom out. i know dampers cost a lot more, but you'll be happy with what you bought. you get what you pay for.
