I'm in the middle of doing a 5-speed conversion on my '91 240sx. I'm having problems removing the automatic brake pedal. I've spent the last hour and a half trying to wiggle/twist/whatever it free, but no love. Any tips or suggestions?

ok... to remove the brake pedal... go under the car unscrew like 2-5 bolts for the brake pedal holding it in...
then... there will be a rod going through the firewall.. into the brake pedal.. there will be a bracket at the end of it with a retaining pin and clip remove the clip and pin and you are all done.

I've already removed the 5 bolts holding the brake pedal bracket to the chassis. I also removed the retaining pin and clip for the rod that extends into the brake booster. There is where I am stuck now. The brake pedal bracket extends up and over the steering column. Is there a trick to wiggling it out??

Take out the brake booster
Thats the only way I was able to get it out.
Good luck

I'd vouch for cutting the brake, I did it when I did my 5 speed swap, I'd just cut it with a hack saw because the sawzall was too powerful and whacked it around. You get the same result anyway from just cutting it.
