How do i tell if my coilovers are blown? My rear ones actually, cuz I jsut had my front ones rebuilt. I keep here this whoosh sound like the shock compressing fast when i go over a bump. I somtimes here a clunk in my front left when i go over a bump fast too. I saw the dust boot ripped from the right rear and some greasy stuff gooing out. Does this mean that they are blown? Oh yea these are the zeal super functions for the S14.

to tell if your shocks are done, do a jounce test. you basicly just push one side of the car up and down up and down and let go. The car should just go down, and come up half way and stop. If it keeps going, your shock is going bad.

You can also look for fluid leaks around the casing.

You can't really do the "up and down" test with most coilovers because the springs are too stiff to compress that way.
