how come we cant just pull an sr 20 from a sentra ser or a 200sx ser and turbo it and put in our cars.
its been boggling my mind for so long. some help will be nice.
ive got one clue tho is it the bottom end that needs to be replaced.

US-spec SR's are FWD configuration......same engine family, but many differences in how things bolt up for RWD, ie trans etc.

thats what i meant by changing the bottom end is it possible or is that a dead end thanks for the rep

That's not the correct term for the bottom end. When people are talking about strengthening the bottom end, they are talking about: Pistons, rods, valves, valve springs, etc.
You technically could do the USDM engine swap, but you would need to do heavy heavy fabrications. The drivetrain would need to be changed, the axels would probably need to be changed, there's just soo much that would be involved in it, there's no point. It ends up being cheaper to import a RWD SR20DET from Japan, which is why we do that.
