It seems like the general consensus for first mods are usually suspension (springs & shocks) but I imagine it depends on what your plans are? Engine swap? KA-T? If you want to keep saving, I think you could do either of those engine swaps for $4k. Otherwise start with the suspension and work your way up.

My personal preference for Intake and Catback would be Injen short ram intake and Apex N1 Dual (because I just got mine) Don;t buy a cheap intake off of ebay....its cheap! (I know from experience)
For headers I'm not sure but I've heard good things about HotShot Headers.

Well I personally own a sohc and if you want to stay with the sohc, here's what I'd recommend. Intake, injen is good. Header wise hotshot is pretty much your main option. Exhaust it all depends on how much noise you can stand Apexi N1 is nice but very loud. Most greddy exhuast are pretty quiet. Get a lightwieght pulley, that thing works wonders. A performance clutch is good either a Act or Clutchmasters. You can either go w/ a street disc or a 6 puck(there not as bad as they make them out to be), a Lightened flywheel will make your car rev faster. A Jim Wolf Ecu worked wonders on my car and got rid of that 115 speed governor. Your going to need suspension. I recommend kyb agx shocks, spring wise, if u can find some rsr springs those are really nice w/ a good spring rate for a non adjustable spring. Adjustable spring wise I"m not sure offhand. Sway bar wise suspension techniques are good. A front strut tower is awesome cheap upgrade. A short shifter is a nice addition. A cam is also a nice addition, one thing I have yet to get Well as you see there's alot of stuff, give me an email at
[email protected] if you have any questoins or u can post here makes no diff. There's my $.02 but all and all it depends what your ultimate goal is to be that will determine what path you can take. But honestly suspension is very important, ok see ya'll

Hello,
I build my SOHC and i am very pleased. I get 290 to a full tank of gas if i drive at a comfortable speed. about 250 if i drive hard. on 93 octain. I spent 5,200 on re-builing the motor, fixing berrings in the tranny, and Rear end gearing. Here is my webpage.

ian, what sort of horsepower are you making at the crank with your setup? What kind of fuel injectors are you using? How about the MAF? I too have a ka24e that Rebello is rebuilding as we speak. Full port and polish, forged pistons, billet cam, and MAF tuning. Fuel and air become a problem on a N/A ka24e motor when you start making over 220 at the crank.
What sort of numbers does your motor put up? Any dyno charts, or 1/4 mile timeslips?
Thanks...

Hello,
No dino yet, coming soon. Yeah we are running a stock MAF, but are going turbo so i think we will be using the ford cobra's MAF. Not sure what injectors we are going to run, (right now stock ) but it will all be figured out in about 2 weeks, (im going turbo). although i may change my mind. The car can get sideways in secound thanks to my new clutch (SPEC 3). Right now i have a S- AFC to adjust my fuel. the fuels not to bad as is though, but i would say the AFC comes into play. Also make sure you get an MSD ignition, Blaster SS Coil, and wires and what not. it will make the world of diffrence.

Also if you plan on doing all this with a race cam (nismo) make sure that you are prepaired for the motor to shake. I am getting new motor mounts from JSPEC.

No, I am going with a mild street cam. Rebello makes a grind that is slightly hotter then stock. I don't want a lumpy idle and sacrifice drivability.

Ian, Your turbo charging the 12 valve? Wow that is a cool idea. What kind of mileage is on your car I just wounder about the logistics of that sometimes on the older engines

The whole purpose of building the my motor was to A. run it N/A for about 6 months and B set it up for Super Charger/Turbo or No2 :!: I am still not sure what i want to do. Right now i am not going to turbo, i am going to work on suspension and interior now.
