Well, I tried to search for this, and I'm sure that someone has probably already asked but can I mount my amps down to the floor of the pass through on my S14. I currently have them sitting there right behind the back seat and my box is on the actual trunk floor right in front of the pass through. I was planning to mount the amps down with some short self tapping screws with rubber separating washers, but I don't want to drill into anything I shouldn't!!

If anyone has any experience here let me know!

Thanks,
Nate

Just the Gas Tank. Nothing major.

I mounted mine on the little shelf behind the back seat you speak of. Just take the carpet off, fit a peice of 1/2" plywood on top of it, and put the carpet back on. Use some self tapping screws to mount your amp. The fasteners holding that carpet have kept mine secured for two years now.

^ Do what he did. The sandwich effect on the carpet is more than enough to secure the amp.

Agreed, although I personally mounted mine facing the rest of the trunk on that same "wall," doing so off to the left (facing the trunk) to avoid the gas tank myself...
... then I wrecked the car.
guess where I will put it in the S13 coupe?

I suspended mine from below the shelf the rear speakers are on.

Works great and outta the way, was a bitch drilling the holes though, had to borrow a right angle drill to be able to fit it in there.

You car run the wires under the cover for the rear deck, then either into the trim by the headboard on along the floor under the carpet. Or both if your eccentric and want to run the power leads in one place and the signal leads in the other. Like me .

If you want to be lazy, I used to have it stuck to the carpet on that shelf that covers the gas tank. You can just get industrial strength velcro and it works surprisingly well.

Too much work, that is where I had my CD changer before I discovered MP3-capable CD players... I used 4 self-tepping screws, 15 minutes and a screw driver

Got my amps sitting in the spare tire compartment, no probs at all so far. Completely out of the way. And they would be a whore to steal too with the MDF board sitting above them and my relocated battery mounted on top of that....
