my car isnt as fast as i think it can be right now without anymods..

mind you i do have a trunk full of shit, but i was wondering what kind of tune up-ish thing would give me a littl extra punch, particulary off the line...

i'm gonna emptyy out my trunk , and perhaps take out the spare...

what about advancign my timing slighty, i had it done at nissna last year, is it safe to advance slightly, or is it dependant on the state of the motor as i was told, by that i mean it is a rather old car.. (179,000km)

i already use 93 octane and full synthetic oil, i will be doing plugs and wires soon as well, but they are only a year old anyways...

any info on timign advancing would be appresiated

When you advance your timing the computer tries to compensate for this, so you are fighting a losing battle...
I did it and it gave a bit of torque but only for like 5 minutes.

It makes your engine run pretty rough, I don't suggest it.

Have you tried plugs and wires

Peace...good luck

Rather then fuck with the timing, when your car most likely needs a basic tune up and some maintenance first, you should change the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter. I am assuming you haven't done this RECENTLY..

Once you have the basic tune up done, your car will rev better, have a bit more oomph....I've driven many 240sx whose owners swear that there car is running strong. Um, NOT..

Do the basic stuff first...Maybe buy a gallon of Toulene...run some through your injectors. Clean your TPS, the throttle body, MAFS, your AIV. You'd be amazed at what these little things yield. Get your car running well. Then you can do your "freebie" mods like adjusting your timing, taking out airbox, etc.

I don't mean to pick on you. But advancing your timing is more of a tuning step once everything is running right. If your car is the slightest bit out of spec, it will do more harm then good.

Good luck!
