I have no experience with re950s but I like my es100s. Decent grip and predictable breakaway. They get a little slippery if youre driving HARD, I probably wouldnt buy them for a track(grip) car but they are great overall tires; tons of people run them.

get the kuhmo mx's. They should be alil more expensive than the es100 but their grip is phenominal for their price. Also you might want to look at dunlop fm901 thats what i ran on my supra and am running on my 240 and love them...but i still love the kuhmo mx's over any tire that i've run so far. That includes AVS Sports, dunlop fm901, good year gsc's goodyear hp ultras.

i run 225/245 es100's on the street and every now and then on the autox (till i get more azenis) and i love em. Quiet, predictable, grip pretty well and are cheap and look good, however i dont have any experience with the bridgestones sooo

Consider the Fuzion ZRi. It's a bridgestone as well just a little less expensive. MX's are great tires. ES100's are Good tires. Fuzion are Good tires as well. I prefer bridgestone tires myself. From the design features I think the Fuzion is a better all around tire. The 950 is a great tire but it is a all season tire. I have that tire on my wifes Passat. The Fuzion, MX's and ES100 are all summer only tires. I parked my 240 on a slight hill that was kinda frozen over. It stayed put for about 20 mins and then slid down the hill. The 950 equiped Passat had zero problem driving up that hill the night before when it was even slicker. Summer tires get very hard when its cold outside.

MX's and the Fuzion ZRi/ES100 should not be considered in the same group. The MX's are a far better tire, but the treadwear reflects that change. ES100/Fuzion are both 300ish treadwear tires. Read the reviews of the Fuzion on tirerack.com. As with all reviews ignore 10% of them but look at the trends.

I have the es100 and they are great in my opinion, i use them for daily driving and i just finished my first auto-x with them. they are a great tire for the price.

Far better? I've had the RE950's. They were more than enough for street driving. I never had a chance to use them on an auto-x course so I'll have to see later. Right now I have touring tires on because I've been traveling a lot.
