S14 VLSD into S13

I have an 89 S13 and i blew out my LSD so i need to replace it. Is the S14 VLSD any different than an S13 VLSD, if i not i figured less miles would be better, and is the any modification i have to do to get the S14 lsd into my car?

Takes different bolts for the front mounts I want ot say they are 80mm long. Other than that its basically the same. Its a straight forward swap. Do a search and it should show the bolt sizes that you need for the front mounts. The S13 ones are just to short.

rear cover is different. buy the s14 diff and swap the internals into your s13 pumpkin

I did the swap on my car. S14 6-bolt output shaft VLSD into my 240.

You need custom washers and longer bolts. they can be 80-85mm long, depending on the type of washers you want to use.

I just had my dad make some washers out of metal at work for me, so i used the 80mm bolt with an extremely thick washer.
It also helps to use a rubber grommet in the bolt hole.

You won't have any idea what I'm talking about until the differential is sitting in front of you, but basically, when you get the diff, and try to use your S13 mounting bolts, they will fall right through the bolt hole. lol

the washers hold up the differential and the bolt goes through the washers into the chassis/body/thingy. kind of a weird way to support such a crucial part, but it works for me =P

Next step for me is getting a new driveshaft. NO more clunk/thump/vibration!!
