Lol. Your Integra smokes 240s? Mabey the older SOHC 240s, but I have never lost to an Integra. There was a time, stock '96 240sx, that my friend would have me up to about 70, then I would take over. Then I got an Injen intake and CAE, and beat him last night by a car length or so up to 60mph. And he has a '95 ls.
240sx's dont have problems with Integras. But if you do, a $169 Injen intake will solve it.

The newer DOHC ka's would beat an LS Integra anyday with a good driver, but not by too much.

MY GSR = 5
dohc 240's = 0
all but one were really good drivers they usually get better 60 foot times due to RWD but after 1st gear they cant touch me not trying to fude just passing info along <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/blush.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

dohc and sohc will spank a integra LS up to about 70mph. Above that all the way to 100+mph, the integra should win if the guy/gal is a good driver.

GSR will win.. LS will not. Minor mods like I/H/E and you should be spanking GSR's

I've raced two ls's w/ my catback and I was all by myself from a 20mph roll....and all the ls's had exhaust intake all that good stuff....Once, had a 96 or newer??? gsr w/ exhaust and intake against my intake, exhaust, and port and polished walked him pretty good. The only gsr that I got stomped by had a turbo on it (it would've been better if I knew that before I raced him; guy had a small ass intcooler behind his license plate) the only thing about those honda products (and yes that includes ur tegras) is they are dummie proof you can ride out those gears to 6500 and up w/o shifting, but only an idiot would do that.....Sorry bud but a 240 is a much better than an integra granted you dont have as much ricer stick on crap for it but it's a beautiful machine whether you turbo the ka(d)e or get an sr(t).....Nissan all the way....Just wanted to ad my waste of space. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

According to Carpoint...
------'94 Integra LS coupe------
FWD
Max. HP----------142 @ 7000 RPM
Max. Torque------125 @ 5500 RPM
Weight-----------2643 lbs (manual)
0.0537 HP per pound @ peak power
0.0473 Torque per pound @ peak torque
------'97 240sx SE------
RWD <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>
Max. HP-----------155 @ 5600 RPM
Max. Torque-------156 @ 4400 RPM
Weight------------2920 lbs (manual)
0.0531 HP per pound @ peak power
0.0534 Torque per pound @ peak torque
It would be a close race. 240sx has RWD and more torque but heavier. Integra is FWD, less torque but weighs less and has more RPM to work with. The skill of the drivers would definitly be a big factor.
But with equal drivers, I'd say the 240sx wins because of RWD; less loss of power through drivetrain
240sx owns all!!! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hehe.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':hehe:'> j/k

i thought 240's weighed 2700lbs, not 2900?
Gismo R
03-18-2002, 10:08 PM
The weight increased over the years. '97-'98 is the heaviest while '89 is the lightest. '89 weighs only 2657 lbs. I think carpoint may have an error in their data because for '97 manual it weighs 2920 and auto weighs 2859. The '98 is just the opposite, and it makes sense that a manual would weigh less.

i got spanked by a GS-R so bad, i don't even want to mention it...
again, i only have a "self made" intake and HKS sport exhaust
mean while he had JUN cams and somthing and somthing (he wouldn't tell me)... <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>
i'd love to see how we match up on a curvy road <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'> since most my mods have been suspension, eastbare tension rods, pilot front and rear strut bars <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>
KYB AGX shocks and Eibach pro-kit, whiteline front and rear sways comming soon, i hope <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hehe.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':hehe:'>
wouldn't that be a dope suspension? <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/notify.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':notify:'>

a gsr is crap... i know i know... they are suppose to be faster than a RS but i know for a fact that you have to be a bomb ass driver to get a badass time out of a GSR. my friend has a RS integra... and he can walk all over gsrs.. he ran a 15.7 (best ever) and my 240 can take his car... i think they are more of a top end car than 1/4

My friend has a modded 95 int. ls; i.e. exhaust, intake, sus. work, and some other modifications. We lined our cars up and I spanked him twice with my 97 240sx. I won mostly because of the launch, but he never came close to catching me. The two wins gave me a boost in pride, that I tried a 2k boxter s-type on the way back from the street races...was spanked like a little catholic school girl.

I'll be racing my friends Type R when i get my 240 boosted to 14psi, he's had the whole bottom end built and the basic intake, headers, exhaust, stand alone computer... he runs around high 12's, would I be able to beat him?
Note: that's 14psi with everything that goes along with that. t04E turbo, fmic, etc......

ok...first off...when you say you're used to high speed...to you mean quickness up to 60-80? or high speed? cause a 240 has a 115-118 speed limiter stock...of course with it off...I believe we go up to 145-150ish...
as far as drag racing...are you stock or modded at all? come on guys...we all know that stock 240's are slow as heck. it's almost embarrassing how "detuned" are cars are....of course if we're talking stock vs. stock...I'd say BS, you might be able to beat a 240, but there's no way you can "smoke" a stock 240, but if you're modded...of course you can beat a stock 240...but that's cool...slap I/H/E, pulleys, flywheel, then a GSR would HAVE to be modded to take a 240. of course I stay away from typeR's....as I haven't seen one that doesn't have at least I/H/E.
if you're looking at prices..300ish for headers, 210-300 for intake/CAI extension, 250-500 for exhaust, I believe UO racing pulleys are 170ish, my JWT ecu cost me 650 I believe, flywheel 300ish...there's also lightened driveshafts, you can get a lighter hood, also remember there's cams, high compression pistons, larger MAF adapter (cobra), larger injectors, etc. etc.
also, you can get a turbo kit 2000-3000-up....or build it yourself and maybe cheaper. turbo on a 2.4 will be way better then a turbo on a 1.6, 1.8, or a 2.2.
you "can" get SR20DET's for 1500ish...then a typeR would be pretty even...if not slower then you.....especially if you upgrade any of the parts.

more loss, less power, used to high speed b/c I'm always doing 125, don't get heavier as they get newer, etc...

You guys must have a leaking head gasket or something. 240SXs should regularely destroy integra LSs. GSRs are harder tho, and I agree you would need I/H/E to seal the deal. Only thing good about Hondas is their higher RPM limit, but it doesn't help them too much =) BTW: RWDs are better for launching because when you hit the gas, from dead stop, the weight of the car is transferred to the rear wheels and this way offsets the power loss through the drivetrain. FWDs behave similarly but where is their power at? uh oh, the front! Sucks for you honda boys.
Integras and VTEC are way too overrated
95 240SX All stock baby!

Integra...nooo I look for bigger prey 3000gt, turbo civics and such I haven't found a teg that can hang w/ the new engine. I am sure they are out there I just haven't found one. Ummm...I think you guys experienced a case of the bad drivers...
A GSR runs 15.5, stock. There have been many people that hit 14.9-15.2 with no bolt ons, just small mods here and there (unattaching this, etc.).
A Type R runs 14.7 stock. Good drivers can get even better.

Your car must be extra special then, cause people scoff when they hear about 15.3 stock 240's... I wish I would be a hair over 15, that is an awsome time. You either are the luckiest 240 owner ever and got some mistake cams or something (maybe they snuck in 91 cams without telling you) or you got the 0 and the 3 mixed up.
And as for the drivetrain loss, yah we have more, but we get better traction due to wieght transfer, maybe that was a misunderstanding or something.
