Q45 lsd same as j30

I have the opportunity to get a 92 Q45 differential with vlsd. I did a search and found that everyone says that the size is physically bigger and the gear ratios are higher. I then did a search of infinity parts and found out that the ring and pinion and differential case are the exact part number.

I know that I will have to replace the output flanges but that isn't a problem, do you think it is worth it, he is selling it for 30 bucks.

I'm pretty sure the Q45 uses the R230 diff. not the R200, but if anyone wants to correct me go ahead.

97+ use the R200 for certain, and it's been stated that earlier ones do also.

it's an r200, but the case and output shafts are different than the rest. ratio is 3.538:1 so why would you want it?

The case is different so it wont just mount up like a j30's.

ive read plenty of threds here and alot of people are running the J30 vlsd settup.
i went with my cousin to the junk yard today and found out that i had a choice of gettin eather one for a lsd swap on my s-shassis,but i dont know wut exactly the diffrence is, i know the q45 is bigger and requiers purchasing a Z axle...and ect... and the j30 bolts rite up.
i wanted to know if its better to get the j30 or the q45 vlsd?
wut do u guys recomend? im going back tommorow to pick one and i wanted to know wut your oppinions were....

yea i know its kinda old but ive read so manny threads of the toppic and this is the closest related that i could find. and yea manny people seem to be running the j30 settup more than the q45.
i belive i will pick up the j30 vlsd as a conclusion of my search.
