I have just finnished installing a SSautochrome Exhaust Manifold on my SR (MOTOR NOT IN CAR) ,and with a little grinding a little bending, and a bit of WELDING everthing is perfct EXCEPT! When I tried to put the Turbo elbow/O2 housing on it hits the bellhousing or the side of the motor, I guess the turbo is to close to the motor now..
My question it do I need to buy a aftermarkit elbow?? or did I get a manufacture defective EM??

If I do have to buy a elbow, what brand has the LEAST amount of fittment issues?? Trust ? Megan? SS autochrome? HKS?

I can take pics if it helps

shit my bad...nevermind. i thoguth it was the same problem as yours but its a bit different. My best guess is the turbo is clocked wrong?

hmmm... all i can say is that a Megan Racing elbow would fit jsut fine. all you need is a bosch o2 sensor. what engine do you have anyway?

anyway, hope you figure out your problem man.

actually, there was a thread with this problem before about 2 months ago. shit...ill try searching and get back to you. but anyway, some guy tried doing the same thing and the elbow was hitting the bellhousing just like yours and i think he had to mod the elbow somehow or something...shit im talking aobut of my ass now but ill get back to you. ill do a search. very sure theres another thread tho.

I found a guys post were he was having the same problem but with a s15 t28 ,and I added my input. I think he shaved his tranny bellhousing.

And No, I'm only test fitting the manifold so for right now,and I'm using the stock SR elbow. I have a feeling that you have to buy BOTH the EM and the elbow from SS autochrome in order to make it work?? maybe? Hmmm

i have teh SSA manifold and elbow, both fit fine on the motor out of the car, i did however have to put a a spacer between my drivers side motormount and teh bracket it sat on to prevent the SSA elbow from bending my steering cloumn. Otherwise it just sits really close to the bellhousing, but does not touch. I also had to shave one of the bolt up points ont eh head near the valve cover because the number 4 runner on teh manifold hit it, so i had to shave a decent bit off.

ill see if i can post the right pics

this is with the S15 turbo as well

Just as a thought, I bought the SSAC turbo elbow and it has fixed the fitment issuses. So it would appear that you have to buy both in order to fit properly. Anyway I'm going to go with the spacer in between the motor mount to fix any steering issues. I'm also going to weld in a 3'' flexpipe to the downpipe. I will take more pics soon

LOL yeah I know I should have been a more sarcastic when I wrote that, but after fabbing the s15 front end on my s13, and putting a lsd kit in a front wheel drive PGT tranny, and so on :blah: nothing seems that bad to me

for people who are wondering, I am pretty sure that the GReddy turbo elbow has the least (if any) fitment issues.
