OK when I first bought my car (127K miles) the check light would blink once in a while whenever I step on the gas. But it stopped doing that in less than a week. So today I unplugged the resisitor to see if there is any effect with my auto transmission, but thats other story. Back to my problem, when I connected the resisitor back and started up my car my check engine light came on. &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cry.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> But this time it wasn't blinking, its just stays on. My engine runs fine, but does anyone know what this means and how I can fix it?? &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'> &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/huh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('>

you have to read the code that the ECU is throwing and then you have to reset the ECU , or it will stop flashing after 200 something starts.. but thats along time..

My car with only 58,000 on it was suffering the same problem. I was just driving normally through the city then the check engine light came on but the car was driving and idling fine. The mechanic said the code that appeared was the Purge Canister Solenoid which is part of the emmissions system. He said it was like a freak accident because the canister was working fine. He said it may have accidently pulled in clean air when its supposed to actually filter bad exhaust before it leaves out the muffler. I dont know....he reset the computer so the light would go away...and it hasn't come back yet....This happened last friday
