I just found a 95 J30 pretty much intact except it's missing the tranny. And all they want for it is $250!!! I'm going to get it just for the hell of it anyway, but what can I scavenge off of this thing. I know the LSD and axles, but what else? Ideas?

The MAF is identical to the Z32....the brakes are way better than stock 240 brakes (but you'll need 5 lug)... Can use the ignitor chip on the SR... rear diff is a OK LSD swap...injectors are 370cc (???)....

HID for some custom retrofit action, maybe?

If it has an LSD in it, you can use that. Little different gear ratio, though.
Or, you can use the J30 axles and a 300zx LSD and it bolts right up.

Go to the junkyard and get a tranny, put some 22s on it and go the projects and collect all the easy pussy you can fit in the car with you

I'd sell it and make a profit. Just make sure theres nothing else wrong with the car.

The J30 uses Q45 front brakes. Two piston, they are pretty beefy. The rear suspension is also very similar to the S/Z cars.
The headunit and speakers can be sold for decent $$$ on ebay. You can get a few hundred for the engine on ebay... Also, door panels will go for decent money if they are in good shape. I say get it and part it out.
I had a J30 for a few months, until I recently traded it in and I can honestly say, it's a pretty amazing package. The fit and finish on the interior is better than the new G35s, arguably it's one of best values for your money out there currently.

you could take the headlights and do this:

If this is true, then bolt up the 2-piston calipers and the 11" rotors. its a great break upgrade.
The only problem is finding race compound brake pads. Not many people make them for Infiniti's. But, you can buy brand new slotted rotors for pretty cheap, for that size if you wanted to.
And you can use your stock brake lines, but I would recommend upgrading to Braided Stainless Steel lines.
PS: this is the Q45 "big brake" upgrade that I did, and I really enjoy it. It does not upset the balance of the brake system as much as the 300zx upgrade does (on the stock master cylinder).
