Im just wondering if anyone else has used this.. its really weak and its pissin me off, does anyone have any good experiences with this thing?

You bought it? What were you thinking? Im pretty sure battery power doesn't cut it for soldering metal no matter how you use it.

It works. The carbon tips wear out too fast IMHO.

guy at my work bought one of those - works for shit

it takes around 800 degrees to melt the solder....

i emailed thier staff about using thier product on auto wires ie wireharnesses and etc and they said that the gauge was too low for thier item and they have a stronger version in delvelopment for mechanical use.

lol wtf?!!? it doesnt take 800 degrees to melt solder....its like 450-500 (tin/silver mix)

i work at home depot and we sell that POS, im not an expert at soldering, but with a real soldering iron at least i can melt the solder! hahah...

its junk, save your $20 for something worthwhile...

I needed something nice to solder the megasquirt for my car. Otherwise I would have just got a regular pencil iron.
