I don't know if I need driving lights or fog lights.
Around here, it gets pretty foggy and on the odd snowy night, I could use the extra light. It owuld be nice to have something in the heavy rain too.
I also found that there are drving lights that increase the light for high speeds and those nsaty backroads.
Now I can't decide. I would rather not pay over $120.
Can fog lights be used to aid lighting on clear nights?
Can driving lights be used effectivly in fould weather?
Thanks,
Jeff

Get fog lights, and HID headlights! That will wake you up in the morning (if you're staring right at them)! Of course, this would go well beyond $120.

HID arn't the best for foul weather...lol
Anyways, i prefer an HID and FogLight setup...and yeah, that will be pricey (the HID lights i want = 2000 dolla.)
i would go with the foglights...but its up to you...driving lights are ok too.

That's my point, HID Headlights (they don't make HID foglights do they, good god I hope not...haven't really looked into any yet though), and then foglights. Very expensive stuff though.

Personally, i'm getting fogs because we get some MAJOR fog around here, often to the point that you actually can't even drive more than 5 miles an hour. I figure if I hook them up to the parking lights I'll be able to just have those on to reduce glare if it's REALLY bad.

I would get foglights, IMO HID's only look good in a 97-98 240SX.

OK, PIAA log lights it is. I found a good pair too.
About colors though, is the white, yellow, or blue better? I am not worried about trying to make it look cool. I want what works best in bad weather.
Can I wire the fogs so that I can have the foglights on and off, while keeping my low or high beams on?

They're not comparable. . foglights are dimmer, and meant for foul weather. . . okay to drive around with, adds appearance too. .

Driving lights are meant to supplement high beams, and are not okay to drive around with (at night... in daytime, or around dusk or dawn, or in overcast weather, they make awesome DRL) If you drive at night with these on, expect people to be PISSSSSSSSSED. . . I'd say. . get both.

I think the driving lights and fog lights are two totally different things. The driving lights are going to shine up and out infront to light the road farther ahead. Fog lights will shine wide to the sides and on the road near your car so you can see when driving in the fog. I think fog lights will work better for you because you have to drive through fog, I found that fog lights also work well when driving mountain roads because the light shines to the sides so you light a curve sooner than lights that projected straight ahead.

HID is nice also

No, they're real HID's. You can buy xenon bulbs cheaper than that and put them in an H4 lens, but it won't be legal. Real HID's have to be professionally aimed which is part of the cost, and they're made to work with a lighting system, not just thrown in.

People make that mistake a lot... Mark at Clearcorners can give you more detailed information about it...
