well, i was reading a post earlier today about a guy who wanted to import a r33 into the us. Well, as we all know, this is damn to expensive and way too much of a hastle to get though U.S. customs. So heres my idea....

i know/hear of a bunch of people who import weed and other drugs through canadian back roads. well instead of importing weed/ drugs, why can't somone just import cars from japan to some bumfuck place off the canadian cost and then drive them into the US. Does anyone know anything about candian customs/import laws.

Once the drugs are over the border, do you drive them on public highways?

No, you smoke them, thus destroying them. :cj:

You must be a troll.
There are holes in this idea big enough to drive the state of Alaska through.

Are you expecting that once the cars are physically on US soil then everything is happy-happy joy-joy? Bringing something over that's small (comparatively), as well as a consumable (and not advertised to the world, like driving your car in public) is completely apples and oranges. Were the car to be a dedicated track car, importation isn't that big of an issue because it doesn't have to be street legal. What you're suggesting is closer to stealing the Hope diamond, then displaying it in your own personal museum for all to see than it is to drug trafficking. Oh and I believe candians are only just now able to bring in R33s, but that in no way has any bearing on bringing one stateside.

No, they can import R32s, the very very very early ones.

Hahah wtf? It's hard enough to try and sneak yourself past the millions of acres of woodlands!
The US-Canada border has become increasingly militarized, and border guards for both countries are more diligent than ever. The US government has increased the number of military soldiers and border personnel stationed at the border, and has also installed motion sensors, infrared cameras, and other high-tech devices.

Anything 15 years old is fair in Canada. We got a R32 Skyline and a S13 Silvia driving around. A Fairlady, a LandRover and a bunch of other cars sitting in a garage till winter is up...

They only way you would be able to sneak a R33 across the US border and drive it around town as a daily driver, is if Osama is riding shotgun. Then I'm sure your mom wouldn't even notice the new car in the garage.

Please stop already with these idiotic legalized importation threads. You kids are not going to discover some secret loop-hole that has never been thought of before. Just let it go already.
