Hi all! I just bought my '92 240SX 5speed 100K miles.
When I start the car, the engine shakes for 1 second, but then settles in. Is this normal? Maybe I have bad motor mounts?
Thanks guys!

if it shakes durning cranking u have nothing to worry about its normal.the stock bushings are filled w fluid to keep vibration from the truck motor <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> to a minimum. now if its hard to start prior to settleing in u might have a bad plug, wire, injector etc.
hope this helps.

Mine shakes at startup, too. I asked the mechanic about it last week when he had my engine lifted, and he said the engine mounts on our cars are synthetic or sylicone (I can't remember which one he said), and said that it's just fine. He hasn't seen a 240sx that doesn't shake a bit when it fires--mine only does it then and only for a second.

don't worry about that...it seems that a lot of people are having that occurence...it happened to me one day and has stopped since...eh, as long as i can start my car and dust a civic or two...it's all good...
*daywalker, could you shrink your sig pic...it's kind of annoying...

No worries, mates! thanks for the replies!
I'm raving to all my friends about my new 240sx. Mostly because it's an unbelieveable great handling car, but also because then I can convince a buddy to buy one too!
