It shouldn't take a whole lot. They only have 222HP stock, and they are 700 pounds heavier. That puts you at a very nice advantage. Intake/headers/exhaust should give you anywhere from 15 - 25 HP (roughly, more or less), which on a DOHC should put you at up to 180 HP or so. With the huge weight difference, it should be pretty close (I would think). Of course, I could be totally wrong. My friend has a stage VIII or some crazy number NA 2+2 (supposedly running 310HP or something according to Stillen, probably closer to 280HP or so), and he is a lot faster than me (stock), but not that much. I think if he was stock, he would just barely pull away.

You should be able to beat him with a DOHC, intake and exhaust If you can drive?

i am really getting tired of these posts not to sound like a dick head, but why cant you do the research. read up on bolt ons look at the companies website ask them how much hp is there product. look for dyno charts. shift faster drive better take everything outta your car lighten it up.

why not just race one and see how bad it is? and how does this belong in tech talk? you did not ask one specific question about a product nor a problem?

these topics along with "do you think i can beat so and so kinda car are really getting outta hand and starting to get annoying. not picking mainly on you but dont expect people to do stuff for you do it yourself you'll be more satisfied and gain more knowledge in the end.

Header: You could go with hotshot
Exhuast: Apexi, 5zigen, greddy
Intake: Injen
Could add an underdrive pulley by unorothdox racing
those are some good starting options

i was mainly asking though about what you used... what web sites?
i mean i have checked and spent about 50 hours looking for mods...
there are TONS of names and sites but where do you find out about the dino specs, hp and others stuff. do you have any suggesstions. of these web site brands should i just go with what ever or is there some BRANDS to stay away from? that is why i posted this.
i am looking for QUALITY parts that are going to last...
I DO NOT WANT TO WASTE ANYONES TIME NOR MY MONEY

it is just i do not want to make a poor investment

bennie,

one of my 240's is a dohc with an injen intake and a custom 2.5 inch catback exhaust with a 75.00 muffler from don at pdm
and the cat converter hollowed out and i wil spank any stock n/a 300zx until i hit my speed limiter at 118 . quarter mile rolling start whatever.

stock N/A Z32s supposedly run high 6s/low 7s 0-60 and low 15s in the quarter (i think!!<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>. &nbsp;u should be able to do it with basic intake/header/exhaust.... &nbsp;but it'll come down to driver in the end. &nbsp;this is all assmin its a 5-speed

Hmmm... I've got to go with camp on this one... These posts are entirely too common, but I'll speak my peace on it anyway...

you said you're getting a new KA, and bolt-ons, I think the others guesses of 180 seems mostly realistic... I'm assuming if you're swapping out, you probably have an older s13 with the KA24e, or a DE with sime high miles... for the same price as you'll be shelling out for all that, you could get a stock setup with a SR20 redtop for just a slight bit more, and start off with 205 (at the fly) stock... add bolt-ons and up the boost, then 230-240 should be within reach pretty easy.

Add a VLSD for a junked s13 SE and you'll be equal with him right off a standstill...

you never mentioned if you want ot be able to beat him just in a drag (bleh, any idiot can go fast in a straight line imho), or if you want to do autoX or wangan style... I guess that all depends on where you live... but most of all, the driver is everything. &nbsp;Practice your launches, work corners over and over, work the double-clutching so you don't ruin all your nice expensive new mods... all this is even more important that the actual parts, cuz what good are they if you can't use them to their full potential?

Or worse... having all those mods and losing only points to operator error... that's far worse than just losing.

all that being said, for research, try your best to use the search option to look for keywords like: tanabe, 5zigen, greddy, apex/apexi, Tein, &nbsp;nismo, eibach, PDM, etc etc

like i said even though i just posted my brake install on my site doesnt mean its my only mod. thats what i choose to post since so many people always ask about that whats needed wil it fit blah blah blah!

i have only done suspension and brakes cause i am not keeping my sohc engine. i have done my own timing chain i have done 5 lug conversion which is also going to be documented.

so like i said im not picking on you theres just to many of these posts popping up which makes it annoying when questions arent to specific or just for a certain car. basic mods are pretty much the same hp like cai exhaust.

of course some are more gains in certain aspects like low rpm high rpm. etc.

also i said im not tryna be a d*ck.
