Heres a clip of an old school Civic hatchback vs. an Skyline R32. Guess who gets smoked??

:eek3: :tweak: :wtf: :Owned:

Whats your opinion guys? can anyone explain? the civic MUST have a yoked out rebuilt LS or B20 turbo in it, not sure. I dunno what the hell is inside of that bucket civic but that thing is fucking quik. i would still pick the skyline over the civic anyday though.

but hey...ive always beleived in them hondas. (I used to be a honda guy) They have some crazy potential(especially gsr, ls or b20 turbo)...but if you wanna fix one up to be that quik? youll probably blow a hole through your wallet and your bank account would probably explode.

but still gotta hand it to ya'll...Nissan all the way ;)

Sounds like ricer fly by to me. The Skyline never seems to change speed. You can hear that civic spool up every time.

Well It is 1. Probably a stock GT-R which are not extremly fast. I have driven a few and raced a few they are not all that. If you were in Japan you would see that the skyline is not all that it is cracked up to be. You can take a Mark II Tourer V and make it 600hp with ease and spank the shit out of a GT-R.

I will one day own a Chaser Tourer V :x:

Hondas can be pretty quick for not to much cash. Build a D series SOHC VTEC for very little money + Boost and you can put down 350hp. In a car that weights 2000lbs thats fast.

Um, that Civic has 426whp if I remember correctly. That GTR is still on stock turbo.
426whp - 2000lbs
vs
300whp - 3000+lbs

lol doesnt take much power to make a civic fast either. i read an article in SCC last year with an old gutted hatch that had like 163 ft/lbs of torque and ran a 12.63 in the quarter mile! ;) its encouraging!

.....I see someone who's trying to get the other to race. This isn't a race at all. Overall, no one got owned.

dont you think its bullsshit for the honda peeps to brag about something like that when they have to build up thier car just to do it? Id like to see them run topspeed and see who gets it. I hate those oldass civics, I usually think of people who cant afford a newer one go with that model.

I don't care for these kind of vids. Who cares if a civic beat a GTR? I mean you can make any POS faster then a GTR with enuff money. But ask yourself, which of those 2 cars would you rather have, a 12 sec civic or a stock GTR. I say stock GTR anyday. I mean come on it's still a GTR. Any kid with a fast Civic would give theres up for a GTR. Stock GTR> civic in any form!

Actually the 90 hatch is one of the best Civics to modify as it is cheap, really light and came with the B16A motor in Japan. That makes any B series motor a bolt-in install and a shit load of parts available for it.

that thing came with a b16? I thought they had that ZC engine?? i didnt think those things handled any good..

The B16A first came on the 2nd gen Integras in 89 and then in the 90 Civic Si-R. I dunno if the ZC came stock on the Japanese Civic.

I think the real question is, what the hell is 'yoked out' and where did it come from?

That skyline is owned by a gentalman named Paul and it is a relatively stock 93 BNR32.

Here is what he had to say on another forum about the video...

"LOL...yeah thats me
humm....race or no race.

no race but i did try steping on it once, but was suffereing serious ignition problmes so it was basically useless. everytime he heard my rev's rise, he'd hit it

I know the guy in the civic and that car is no joke though, made 470whp

that was also in CO, i live in Cali now and the car is running good, so maybe i'll find a 400 hp civic and have at it...lol

hope that clears up a few things"

I would take the Skyline over the Civic anyday of the week, 470hp or not.

G2s got B18A not 16a. civis got the 1.5 1.6 engines

funny remark coming from a guy driving an s13...why didn't you buy a s14 kouki?

not everyone is made of money or has parents willing to buy them a brand new car.

the whole honda vs nissan or any other car is stupid. They're different cars in different classes. fwd economy cars versus rwd sporty/sports cars, sure hondas can make a lot of power, but their downfall is being able to put that power down to the ground. one thing i like about hondas is most of them are fairly lightweight and it is a lot easier to be quick and brake fast because of it. the downfall to that light weight is that its freakishly scary at high speeds (100+ mph)

In Japan they have the B16A. The B18A nad B18B on the G2s is here in the States. Same with the Civic, they had the B16A in Japan on the EF chasis.

You could show me 1000 videos of a Civic outrunning bullets, and I still wouldn't own one. I don't doubt their potential, I just don't like them. Thanks for the low quality video that proves nothing, though.

IMHO, I've had several civics come up on me on the high way like that trying to race me. I keept it in CC the whole time till they got pissed off and left. Looked just like that video. I don't belive it till I see the driver of the GTR trying to race him not looking out the window like 'WTF does this nut job want.'

I saw that vid a while ago. I agree, I'd take a stock GTR over any civic just for the sake of having one. I also think the GTR has much greater potential/bang for the buck, as far as modding goes.

Not reallt considering a single turbo can cost as much as a whole civic...but over all more potential, yes.

until you take that civic and skyline into the mountains, then the skyline gets left behind. But that's just for people who drive mountains a lot.

Yea...didn't look like to much of a "race" but that civic was no joke...The Skyline never appears to really pull away from traffic...which we no is certainly possible.

vid = no race.
