Maybe a stupid question but does it mutter is you have a ca18det or a sr20det engine for the catback? I just got a mail back and they said that they don't have an exhaust for a ca18de s13 only for the sr20det s13.
(It's an origin exhaust b.t.w.)

You can't be serious.
What part of the rear of the car changes when you swap motors?

Get your exhaust for the car, not engine...so S13 for S13, S14 for S14.

I thought so myself. But a man from Origin told me that they didn't make any ca18det exhausts. Guess he's only a salesman.

The CA needs a different exhaust from everything I've read. The routing doesn't change. Where the downpipe mates to it does, however.
I'm not 100% sure on this.. but to those who are essentially calling him an idiot had better be 100%.

Jeff240sx youre right... sr20det exhaust fit.. just need some modding at the dump pipe or the piping flange

but if you get an sr turbo elbow and dp on the CA motor then it fits to the exhaust without any modding

The CA is physically a smaller motor, with things in different positions. I've seen a Silvia exhaust listed as:
Silvia S13 all exc. CA18
Silvia S13 with CA18
as I've browsed through japanese sites. I don't think that the solution is as easy as get a sr downpipe. Otherwise companies wouldn't make 2 exhausts.

Only the downpipe is diffrent between the ca and sr engine. The catback is the same. A friend of mine got a Blitz nur spec form japan(without telling what engine he had) and it fits with no problems.

Full exhaust for our car are cat-backs so everything after the cat will be for the chassis. Dowpipes will be for the engines.
