My check engine light came on the other day then went off then came back on today. I managed to find the info on pulling the code and I've determined it to be "Code 32 EGR Function". I understand there are quite a few components to the EGR system, here's my question.

I can lift up the diaphragm and the engine starts to puke...normal. I checked all the hoses, no cracks in them however they feel a bit rigid, probably should be replaced but doubt that's causing the error. I then hold my fingers on the EGR diaphragm and rev the engine...it moves up but only slightly. Is this normal? How much travel should there be in the diaphragm? I can press the diaphragm much further with my fingers as opposed to revving the engine and feeling it move. Thanks!

What year is your car?? I didn't see it mentioned in your post...

Click on the following link:
http://240sx.org/faq/
When the page loads, look to the links on the left. Scroll down till you get to "ECM Code 32". Click on that link. It should tell you how to fix your problem.

Anyhow, hope this helps...

he obvious knows what the code means, he is having trouble spotting what's wrong with his EGR that in the end sends out the code. I am actually also curious at this topic since my car is doing the EXACT same. I have a 96 240sx. I have a question, how is your mileage? Might be the piping hoses stuck or something.
