I am in the process of fitting my new body kit, but I can't seem to get my rear bumper off. I have un-done all the screws I can see that go along the top and bottom of the bumper, but something is holding it on at the sides? Has anyone removed this bumper before, because I am nearly at the point of destroying it in the process of removing it?

I figured it out! There is about 6 screws that go along the bottom of the bumper which can be accessed from the bottom. There are also another 6 or so screws that go along the top of the bumper. These screws can be accessed by removing the taillights and the lower trim under the taillights. You have to bend the top of the bumper out a little bit to get a tool in there to undo them, which took a bit of squeezing. There is also another 3 screws either side of the bumper, which can be accessed inside the cargo area. You will have to remove some interior trim to access these. They are located in the pockets where the jack is etc. The light for the number plate also needs to be undone, and the bumper will slide right off.

good that you figured it out on your own. best way! if you need any body related stuff it's always good to refer to the FSM. it has all the bolt locations etc.

or you could've removed the 3 nuts on either side of the bumper and the four bolts in the trunk floor holding the bumper support to the car. the entire bumper assembly comes out in one piece and you don't have to strain getting to the other little bolts/nuts and screws while the bumpers on the car.
