Bad syncro the SR trannys suck ass, Even with a OS giken gear set and in/out put shaft they suck. I dumped the idea for the GT-R swap ( did not want to cut into my car) for a dog mission from Australia. It is little expensive but "Garon"teed to last. or my money back minus shipping.

mine does the same shit in second, i got it where if i move it all the way over hard, and then down, it doesnt shift, but when i get on it, its not a freindly shifter, tends to grind when im bangin through the gears.

how much was the dog box and where did you get it from?

to help the creator of the post:
you have a bad synchro
you should either rebuild the trans or replace it you can use the standard 240 transmission as long as you swap the bellhousing over

Well It is about $7000 AUS dollars I got it from A friend of mine from nissansilvia.com I think they call there shop eathquake or something like that. I was asking around here in japan about a good dog mission and they said either HKS or some of the Aussie guys build some badass missions.

some cars back in the 30s and shit had no synchro gears but as you progressed into the muscle car era (late 50s and up) most except for big trucks have syncros...it is not as much the double clutch as rev matching that you need to be good at for a non synchro (dog box) transmission

I remember reading that the older model greddy dog missions are great.

And to the original poster, if you are grinding on upshifts with heavyduty shockproof in there, go get another mission or use your old KA mission. If it's only on downshifts, just revmatch. You should be revmatching anyways.
