My signature is all I have left to remind me of what the front of my car USED to look like.
http://spauto.n3.net/s13 <---pictures
It was about midnight....drifted around a popular DESERTED corner. Did it very well. Then came up to the parking lot that we turn into, to turn around...tried to turn left (going slow)....car didn't want to go the direction the tires were going...brakes were useless...so I lost the battle with a metal fence post. Any other fence post....i would have destroyed...with minimal damage to my car.
Was able to drive back to my friends auto shop...half mile away...car was in "gimp" mode - fun, fun!
Now I get to go back to boring USDM front end.
Parts for sale:
1 dual halogen headlight.- Not Damaged!
pair of silvia parking lights/turnsignals - Not damaged!
1 passenger side quarter panel - Not Damaged! (newly painted titanium grey metallic, no dents, dings or scratches)
1 drivers side quarter panel - probably damaged...hard to tell (same paint as above)
1 bumper parking/turnsignal light.
Greddy intercooler piping. Core is damaged...and on display - not for sale!
If you see anything else that you think I would be selling....your probably wrong if it isn't listed...but go ahead and ask.
My recommendation - don't play chicken with a re-enforced corner metal fence post.
**edit**
parts needed:
radiator support.
radiator
hood
quarter panels
bumper
pop-up headlights
I don't care what color! - I just gotta have a running car for my job.
Ouch, looks pretty messed up. Any frame damage? Did you have any bumper reinforcement behind that bumper?

stock jdm s13 lsd...(which had nothing to do with the clandestine meeting with the fence pole by the way...)
Don't think there is any frame damage....the pole literally slid against the edge of the frame - we are going to take a better look at it on a lift today or tomorrow to see if there is any suspension damage.
No bumper reinforcement....had to remove it to fit the intercooler.

Bumper would be nice...but unless someone also offers me a free jdm hood....I will be going back to flip-up headlights....
so will the bumper work with USDM front end?

You can have my semi-ok paint, Black chuki bumper for $20 if you come out to Sac to pick it up. I know how it feels. Sucks, but you gotta make do. Shouldn't have been sliding around with bald tires anyways. Oh yeah, I got some used tires too if you want to pick up two of them (205/60/15) $15 each.

holy crap! I guess this is what happens when you hit something without bumper support. yikes. I'm not sure I want to put my FMIC in, unless I can figure out a way to keep the bumper support. ( i know it can be cut but it doesn't leave much left)
move your radiator back a few inches and modify your piping...it works

Ay dude, got a whole front end for you in Oakland/Alameda area. But you have to pay for it. It's complete with pop-up assemblies blah blah blah
I'd also like to get the "pair of silvia parking lights/turnsignals" off you. That refers to the sidemarkers, next to the headlight assemblies, correct?
PM me or something.
Sorry to hear about your accident.
oh yeah...in the timeless words of Jay, the louder half of Jay and Silent Bob...

yea baby! I bet on the night of the accident after you got home and fell asleep. You woke up the next morning and thought, "mann.. I had the most horrible dream ever!" Then you realize that you really did hit that pole. Then reality sets in and you begin thinking of ways to get your car up and running again.
Good luck man.. Your S13 looked pretty sweet..

Hey fool, its Chris.
If you want to buy it, I will sell you my spair Silvia Q's bumper for cheap. Let me know, cya
i would still need a hood and lights...which would end up costing more than just going back to annoying pop-up lights....i just don't have any money any more...cheap is good now.
thanks for the offer though!
cya around.

looks like your car got into a fight with the pole....and lost.
final act
12-28-2004, 08:59 PM
umm why are you drifting in the rain, with bald front tires!!!!!!!!!!!!! :loco:
RSP13-Sideways
12-28-2004, 09:08 PM
Yea man, a lot of people get the idea that drifting in the rain is "better" but there's less "control" than the dry because the front tires might catch some debris or something and that's game over....
anyway, I got a pair of fenders, hood, front bumper, headlights, grill, cornerlights, etc....
I have a complete front end S13 with the tripple projectors...I bought a second set incase something like that happened to my sileighty...I'm in the Bay Area.....I was gonna save it for me but since you're a local homie and it looks like you need it...lemme know. I'll sell it to you for hrmmmmm $750. The fenders are mint and so is the hood. It's all miscolored though, sea green and the grey s13 color...lemme know.

just so everyone knows where i am at with parts now:
1. kriptix (my mechanic) has a hood and stock intercooler for me.
2. Several offers to give me bumpers or sell for cheap (thank you everyone!), I haven't decided yet, because those of you with full front ends haven't said that you would be willing to sell parts instead of all or nothing.
3.Flip up lights have been offered. (thank you!)
If someone is willing to sell just the fenders/quarter panels - that would be awesome. I guess black is the color of the other parts, but again, it doesn't really matter.
Also, looks like the s13 quarter panels are sold, as well as the intercooler piping.
If anyone has installed an aftermarket radiator and has their old one hanging around - I would be interested in that as well.
Thanks for everything guys!

running without a bumper is a really dumb thing to do. it doesn't really increase risk of death to anything other than all your most expensive parts... but i guess some people got time and money to burn.

the bumper support would of still mest up the front mount. And no one plans on hitting a pole anytime soon!!
MugenHonda
12-30-2004, 03:12 PM
The way I look at it, if it's not a very hard hit, the bumper support will most likely cause more bad than good (FMIC etc etc). If the hit is pretty hard, your shit is fucked anyways, so what's the point?
For a street car, I would DEFINITELY keep a bumper support, but for a race/drift car, there is
no point.

i hit a tree at probably the same speed he hit that pole, i had a bumper support and its what totalled the car. if i hadnt had the bumper support it woudl have been cosmetic damage, and alittle bit of hammering and maybe a couple minutes with a puller.
with the bumper support it made the frame rail take the blunt of the impact and it turned the frame rail into an accordian.
down with bumper supports.
