Hey there guys, I've been reading quite a bit and doing a lot of searching as I get ready to turbo my KA24DE in my 95 S14. I will be going with a very basic setup, and will only run at low boost(never anything above 7, but usually will stay under 5). I'm not looking for some outrageous gains, just a nice beginners turbo kit that won't make my KA unreliable. I guess I will be doing what is considered a "stage 1." Here are my plans, I would appreciate feedback and comments as to whether or not this is a good way to go when going KA-T. Also, something to keep in mind, at this time, my car is an automatic.

First off, I will be going with the SSautochrome turbo kit. For those of you who do not know what it includes, here is a link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7940860437&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT

Since I have heard mixed reviews about the SSautochrome turbo manifold, I am leaning towards getting it reinforced just to be safe. Although I was also thinking since I won't be running my engine that hard or boosting to much, I might not have to.

In addition to the SSautochrome turbo kit which includes: turbo, manifold, wastegate, BOV, and oil lines this is what I am planning on getting: walbro fuel pump, sidemount intercooler with piping, downpipe, stock SR 370cc injectors, tuning with SAFC, gauges, turbo timer, and boost controller. I currently have a 2.5" Greddy SP Exhaust, but I will probably be switching it out in favor of a 3" exhaust.

Now... to my knowledge, that is everything I need for a solid stage 1 turbo kit. Am I forgetting/overlooking anything here? I wanted to get a FMIC, but I think to keep costs down I will stick with a SMIC(r33 stock smic maybe) or perhaps get a Starion FMIC. Any suggestions and input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

jwt ecu?
Cobra MAFS?
you will probably want a new mafs for future setups anyways

also perform a compression test on the motor before turboing it, if the motor is already weak 7psi is enough to finish it off

why dont you go with the greddy kit. the driveability from stock is unchanged and it's a proven kit. THe manifold is probably stronger and it comes with emanage so you dont have to tune it. ANd it's perfect for the 7 psi you want to run. In the future that turbo can take you way past 300whp if you decide to go for it.

i hope you didnt pay for that kit already, id much rather have bad feedback form ss autochrome then waste time and money, do what westboroughpimp said

i agree with that, also you dont need a boost controller right off, especially if your running low boost, just use the regular wastegate setting. Run a 1st gen DSM BOV to save $, and forget about the 3in exhaust for now too.

The Greddy kit is for OBDII cars and his is OBDI. How will that work?
